36' or 48' range? AG or duel fuel?
Comments (1)We are redoing our kitchen and had the exact same issue. We ended up doing a 36" AG range and seperate electric convection oven. In the end my wife liked having more space in the 2 ovens than the 48" (especially for holidays and large gatherings) and we felt 6 burners on the 36" were fine. We also went with AG since it was considerably less cost wise and after researching on Consumer Reports their opinion was AG cooked even better than DF....See MoreHelp picking a range please!
Comments (3)You might get better response on the Appliance Forum. BlueStar is big over there. But a lot - maybe most? - have gone away from gas to induction. Sorry about your stove. It sounds cool....See MoreBest Affordable Pro Style Gas Range?
Comments (20)Hi Jennie - we have a Kitchenaid counter depth. It’s now 12 years old now so this is not current info for you. It has broken down twice. The inside cannot be easily configured and there really is not a lot of storage. I think it’s about 24 cu ft. We at first couldn’t find someone to repair it and looked at replacing it. To avoid messing with the cabinets it would have been a $12k fridge to fit the space. I hated being locked into the space restrictions and did not want to replace or re-do the cabinets. Luckily we found someone who had a rebuilt “motherboard” (not sure if that’s the correct term) for $2200 so we repaired. Ultimately, I feel it’s just a waste of money, especially these days when appliances don’t last. Perhaps SubZero is still good or other premium brands. But the SZ we looked at that might fit was $16k. We found nice fridges for under $4k but of course they would not fit. I have had terrible luck with all my Kitchenaid appliances as they all broke down at one point in the past years. I think I can blame it on a special “builders package” offered when the home was built. But I’m burned now and, right or wrong, I personally won’t buy Kitchenaid again. Good luck to you!...See More36" or 48"? Range or Induction Cooktop?
Comments (6)IMO the 48” is overkill if you are happy with 36” the venting alone for a 48” range is ridiculous and I run a catering biz with a 36” Have tried induction it is not for everyone I have 3 clients that went back to gas after insisting on induction. Who is the team you are talking about? You need an independant KD not a cabinet company designer to make the best choices for kitchens. BTW Electrolux makes al all fidge all feezer SXS with built in kit for less than 4K and I have clients who love them. I have the old Fridgedair ones 14 yrs old not one service call . Really think about how each appliance works for you and all those need to be bought before the kitchen design is done....See Morejajordan
