I think you have a range of 12" to 21" diameter for your pendents. It would really depend on how much lighting you want to spread across your Island.

To fit 4 - 12" pendent over your 13" island, you will need to space them about 30" apart ( 9" space from the edge of counter + 12" pendent + 30" space + 12" + 30" + 12" + 30" + 12" + 9" = 156" Kitchen Island)

With the 21" pendents, you would have to space them about 18" apart. (9" from edge + 21" pendent +18" space + 21" pendent+ 18" + 21" + 18" 21" + 9") Good luck!

Thank you! We are thinking of putting crystal pendants. I feel like 21" would be too glitzy for 4 pendants in a kitchen. So likely want a smaller size. I was looking at some 8" ones but would they look too small?

Here is a picture of the kitchen if that that helps. Counter tops are still not in yet, but would be white quartz.

4 fixtures seem like too many.

Maybe just one fixture in the center??

Thanks BeverlyFLADeziner - the builder has given 4 pendant so I guess we need to put 4. Using only 2 or alternate will seem either too much in the Center or too far apart

I wouldn't do 4 b/c that is what your contractor "has given you." I think 3 is probably the right number for that large island. Pretty kitchen!
