Help with Island Pendant Lighting - PB Flynn Oversized Pendants
Comments (87)Hello everyone!! I NEED HELP!!! I purchased 2 Duke Oversized Pendants (16 inch overall diameter) in 2020 on Pottery Barn site. They make my whole kitchen!! The glass on one of them broke and Pottery Barn site says No Longer available! Ive been in tears for weeks!!! Can anyone tell me where I can find one of these?? My email is ginamt2@yahoo.com. Thank you for any help you can give! Ive attached a pic of the pendant and one of my kitchen so you can see the beautiful lights above my island!...See MoreHow many pendant lights with 10ft island?
Comments (1)Go with 3, unless the 24" pendants cast a very bright/wide light. Spaced correctly, I think 3 would look more balanced on an island spanning 10', with little liklihood of casting shadows. Try suspending cut up boxes over your island to better visualize 2 vs. 3 lights....See MoreAre 3 pendant lights too many for my small island
Comments (9)From reference above. "Now we know you all hate it when we say you SHOULD follow this or that rule, so call this post the Guideline of Threes in your mind if you must. Because there’s a good reason that sitcom wasn’t called Four’s Company, or there weren’t six blind mice. And that same reason can help you create an interesting home that’s not just functional, but also has visual depth and satisfaction. It’s pretty simple: The rule guideline of threes say that things arranged in odd numbers are more appealing, memorable, and effective than even-numbered groupings. Three seems to be *the* magic number, but 5, 7, or 9 work nicely as well. The principle holds weight in interior design, to be sure, but also pops up in graphic design, photography, storytelling, etc… (so you know it’s really a thing). What is it about the odd numbers? Apparently, it’s just how our lovely brains work. For one, three is the smallest number that can be used to form a distinguishable pattern in our heads. Also, when you see an odd number of things, your eye is forced to move around more, which makes for a more interesting visual experience."...See MoreWould two 18in pendants be big enough over a 9ft 4in by 4ft 4in island
Comments (34)I too have spent an enormous amount of time looking at lighting and it feels like I’ve just reached a whole new level of adulting 😆. I love your Kichler light and it pairs so nicely with the dining room fixture! After your first comment on this thread I looked into getting that Kichler light for our kitchen but the brass one only comes with clear glass. Bummer! Anyways, I’m so thankful for both of your help! After spending so much time trying to figure it out on my own I was starting to forget what kind of lighting I was wanting in the first place 😅. I think the Hinkley one will be perfect for our kitchen!...See Moredollerchauhan
