Mounted TV + TV stand

Hi,

We recently mounted our tv and are looking for a stand, mainly to keep the cable box, router, and maybe the sound bar (we might mount the sound bar but haven’t decided...any thoughts on this? Our tv mount tilts and swivels 180°). I also would like something with a back so that the cords are hidden.

Our last tv stand had a depth of 17” and came out a bit too far for my liking, so I’ve been searching for console tables to get the more narrow look. I understand the width should be no smaller than the TV, which is approximately 57” across. The tv sits about 49” above the ground. What is the minimum/maximum height I should be looking for in stands? I attached a picture of a few of the styles I really like. I’d love to find something in my color scheme (grey, white, etc.), but right now I’m more concerned with style and dimensions. The green one has a height of 36”...is that too high?

Any help/recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I could swear I started a thread way earlier this morning, asking about mounting a tv and hiding the wires. I am looking at similar consoles as well as simpler tv stands that are lower. I have tried to find images and it seems really that you would be fine with the height of those cabinets which are very attractive. I just wonder if it would be in the way of the chaise part of your sectional but probably would be fine. Here is my dumb question---- where are the wires to the TV?

Not a dumb question at all...I used to wonder the same until I learned how it was done. They’re hidden in the wall! Directly behind the tv and then they come out through that little circle near the bottom.

Looking at these pictures, I also used the Dynamic mount for my Samsung 65". But the WAF plummeted because it hid the fireplace, so back to Costco and exchange for a 60". See attached pic. I'm very happy with the installation and ease of use. In the "up" position, it looks like a normal above-the-fireplace mount.

It all somewhat depends. The short answer is that your TV should be centered on the eye level of the viewer. So based on a typical seat height of 18" and a typical torso height of a relaxed adult (24") , the center of the TV should be at 42" above the floor. But that may not work depending on the height of your TV stand. The cabinet below the TV in this view came from Costco. The 55" TV is mounted on the cabinet, but could be mounted on the wall behind it. I added the casters.

Coming back to add- if any of these are from wayfair or similar, if you look at the reviews, often people post pix of the item in their room. I find that extremely helpful to judge. Also coming back to add that my dh just explained to me that we can have the wires hidden but that will be with electrician when he comes to do a few other things.

Yes most of them are from wayfair I just don’t know which heights to look for. I also find that there are slim pickings with my desired width and depth dimensions.

I am hoping someone else will pop in, but I just searched for the green one, (helvic 3 drawer) and one of the reviews has a photo with a picture approximately 12 inches or so above it which looks great. So I think, visualizing the TV instead of the art, it would work. You would have to not put anything too tall on the top of the unit, but I think it works. It's a stunning piece and just under a foot deep.

No, I think that height would be too short. 30”-36” seems safe.
