Would this art work in my living room?
Comments (18)The wall color is SW Ramie. The chair was my grandmothers, and it is just sort of a placeholder right now. I have been searching for new chairs. I would really like to get 2 chairs, but I am unsure how to arrange everything. I would also like to get a new rug--I've been coveting a real hand-knotted forever. The current rug is very nice, 100% wool Couristan machine woven. It is in the same line as My3dog's lovely living room rug. They have been selling this line of rugs in the last year at Tuesday morning for less than half price. It doesn't come off quite as pale in person. I want to eventually move it into my bedroom, where it will be perfect. Does anyone have recommendations for a rug? What color scheme? I really like some of the orientals that are a bit more modern without a really tight or busy pattern. Something maybe like this: This rug is from Williams Sonoma home, and is way out of my price range at over $2K. Is it possible to get a hand-knotted for around $1K? I need at least an 8x10....See MoreArt Work - Too Small for Wall?
Comments (60)Thanks everyone ... I appreciate all the help and compliments I received on this! The rug isn't new, but it was my 3rd try until I got it "right" You know I didn't even think to move the picture up a little, to cover the box, but I will definitely do that. Unfortunately my whole house needs to be rewired, so I will have many more of these type holes to patching paint!...See MoreArt is Too Small for Wall
Comments (20)I would have it reframed, including a mat to enlarge the piece on the whole, and then hang it slightly lower. You don't need to add anything else to the wall; as noted above, the minimalism is quite nice, and adding more will detract from that....See MoreArt too small for the space?
Comments (88)If I want a chair there I would have to buy one specifically for that space. And I am not so keen on that, plus we do have a lot of seating in that room - it’s not like we need another piece of seating furniture there. I guess that’s why a plant was suggested for that corner. Although, if the perfect chair fell onto my lap I would not be opposed to putting it there just not sure I want to go out and search for and buy the perfect chair for that space. I may replace that tree with one suggested earlier from Crate & Barrell that is lighter and smaller. I just need ideas for art arrangement in the desk/computer monitor area (if any art/prints should go there at all)....See Morelupins4
