final Vintage order polyantha choices
Comments (10)I've had Katherina Zeimet for a couple of years now. It started as a bareroot grafted from Pickering, but when I decided to grow only own-root roses I was able to root a cutting of it no problem, which can't be said of many rose varieties. My experience with polyanthas and fragrance is different from yours--I find that most lack fragrance, and Katharina is an exception as she does have a nice, moderate fragrance. She does bloom almost non-stop. I just recieved my Lady Anne Kidwell from Vintage, and she hasn't bloomed yet. I hear her color is fabulous and unique, though. One thing to think about perhaps--the Rogue Valley clone of this rose has developed the RMV, and the Vintage one apparently has not, so you might want to either grab one for that reason, or be suspicious that it might have the virus without symptoms, depending on whether your a pessimist or optimist....See MoreTrendy or Classic? - Upholstery Fabric Choice
Comments (11)Mary, can you post a picture of the room, with the pieces that the chair will be going with? Since the fabrics are so disparate, I don't feel that I can say go for one or the other without seeing the room and its furniture and accessories. I am 'leaning' toward the 'word' fabric, but it's only because I am not a contemporary person, and the bold fabric doesn't do anything for me. But I love gsciencechick's fabric just above! I search for fabric for projects almost every day, and the 'word' or script fabric is still very popular and comes in many forms and colors. I don't think we can say how long either will be popular, though. Here is a link that might be useful: See many script fabrics on Etsy here...See MoreVintage Avocado Green Carpet and Wall Paint Color Choices
Comments (8)For a while I rented a condo unit that had similar carpet throughout (and matching green tile in the bathrooms). If a large element that you can't change isn't to your taste, the key is to avoid both playing to it and playing against it. Specifically, do not use a wall color that is a direct or near complement complement of green: that is, not red (or pink) and preferably not orange or purple, either, because all of those will make the green stand out instead of recede. I have deliberately used green carpet with pale yellow walls, but it was a grass green, not avocado. In this case, I would prefer a greenish khaki (not taupe - too pink!) or beige, which will somewhat blend with it. And not too light; the color has to be strong enough to withstand the green light that the floor will reflect. BTW, if the element that you can't change is a pattern rather than a solid, using more of the color that stands out too much is a way to tone it down. The same rented condo had bathroom cabinets clad in laminate in a violent gold pattern (this was against the expanse of avocado green tile), and I found that using a gold shower curtain and towels calmed it, because it made gold a background color rather than the foreground....See MoreHelp Me Find Upholstery Fabric For Dining Room Chairs
Comments (3)Does the chair you show have only one hind leg? I would think that would make it more difficult to move these chairs around. Also, I would think these chairs would be heavy to maneuver, especially by children and older people. I like the first pattern you show, and I don't think that you need to match colors from one area to another exactly. The mind will perceive them as separate rooms. At the same time I would wonder whether there isn't an overuse of this color, since it is a rather strong one. You might consider a beige material instead or beige with a subtle teal pattern,...See Morejunco East Georgia zone 8a
