Accent Wall Color Ideas

I just bought a condo and have 2 bedrooms to paint, it is an open floor plan and i am painting the dining/living/kitchen area graytint by Benjamin moore (https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/find-your-color/color/1611/graytint?color=1611)

I bought these 2 comforter sets below and love them along with their decorative pillows, but can't decide what color to paint the bedroom walls! I need to decide ASAP as the painter is already scheduled, any recommendations? Was thinking of painting the whole first floor the graytint and just putting 2 accent walls in the bedrooms, something like this .. thoughts? color selections to match with these comforters? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I thinkyour first bedding could use an accent wall if you want in the blue but the 2nd one I would not do an accent but just a nice piece of art.

what color should i paint that room then to match the comforter? or just leave it graytint?

There are many coordinates for Classic Gray. Accent walls…very few rooms get away with one and it seems you are planning on several. Why do these walls deserve another color? You have to showcase something.. a back drop for furniture or to highlight the design of the wall…. Each room and its purpose (for instance a media wall or bedroom wall behind the headboard) would work. Other than that, I would use fabric in coordinate colors. Photos would help.

I’ll add another “no” to an accent wall. A large canvas, framed in black/silver (silver to give a nod to the chandelier), choosing colors from the adjoining room, would be lovely. This piece is from greatbigcanvas.com and there are so many from which you can choose your own style of art.

@Luna A. it's hard to give advice in a vacuum--can you post a couple of photos of the room and the curtains? Although my instinct would be to paint all the walls the same color. The photos that MarleneM posted are so happy and bright, why not go all out? If your little boy likes green, perhaps go with that. I always tell the story of my daughter's selection of Lily Lavender for her bedroom when she was 9. My husband hated the color, but I said it's her room, she should have what she wants! Well she's 32, married, and expecting a baby now, and we just repainted the room last year. It was a small gesture to make a child happy.

I feel a similar blue tone to your photo would work as an accent wall. However, when you use the blue comforter with a blue wall you will need to add a contrasting accent color, so it isn't blue overload. If you did red accents for example you could purchase some red lamps for your nightstand, small red accent pillow, throw blanket etc.

I could also see mustard yellow, or orange tones working as the accent color too...Depends on your personal taste! Good luck and congrats on the new condo!
