If you see them then it is a concern. I used to fight them every year. I started using "Over n Out" to control fire ants several years ago. Ever since I have used this product, I have not had any mole cricket problems. In fact this year I was a little late in putting it out and I saw some mole cricket activity in my yard. By the way, they love Centipede grass. Anyway, I put some of the "Over N Out" in my yard and noticed several mole crickets coming to the surface and dying. You can get it at Walmart or Lowes. You broadcast it like fertilizer. Just go by the label for application rate and it will take care of mole crickets and fire ants. Good luck.

David, I, personally, would just ignore the mole crickets. However, Bermuda is probably better started from sprigs. I know Bermuda and St. Augustine are preferred southern grasses, but both are very invasive and hard to keep out of gardens and flower beds, if you have any. I'm glad that our northern grasses are, in general, not invasive. Many years ago, when we lived in, and gardened in, Ft. Worth, I fought an on-going fight against St. Augustine and particularly Bermuda trying to keep it out of our garden and flower beds. We were growing ordinary Bermuda and St. Augustine, and not any of the hybrid golf-course varieties. Our only serious insect enemies of the lawn were grub worms, and they could devastate the root systems of St. Augustine. We moved to Kansas and a better job just as the Fire Ants moved in. MM

Wasps kill mole crickets? I shouldn't have any of those bugger near my yard! I have a wasp explosion! Do you see any mole cricket tunnels? That is a for sure way of knowing that is what you have. Cicada killers make holes like you describe. My partridge peas are not blooming now so maybe just wait a little longer. Good luck
