I've done both painting and decoupage on clay pots,havn't done any for awhile though.The ones outside lasted a couple years with the decoupage,as i had put several layers of decoupage medium on them.I still have a few in the house that i use on special occassions like xmas,and patriotic holidays.Those i don't plant in,just set a pot inside of them,and they still look like the day i did them which is over 10 years ago.I remember the time frame as i was still working then and i did them for a store display where i worked.I retired from there in 1999,so that's more like 15 years + - Kathi kathi

Use the pour-on Envirotex Lite. It's what they use on the tabletops with all the stuff under it. The biggest problem you will have is getting any bubbles out, a hairdryer set on low speed/high heat should work or a small torch of some sort. Do it in a dust-free area and mix, mix, mix the solutions extra well. I've done a lot of small things, but never anything as large as what you will be doing. You may want to do a small plaque or ?? first, just to experiment with the product before tackling the bar. Use the 40% off coupon at Michaels because the stuff isn't cheap. Not sure how many you will need, the box will have a sq. footage listed on it. Good luck!

I would have used a glossy decoupage. Mod Podge is sold almost everywhere and I've never had a issue with it. I would try to salvage the pictures then start over. Can the pictures pill off or are they stuck? If they are stuck then maybe use a bit of a acetone carefully on the spots that are tacky, then add another resin after it's all dry.
