Some final rambling thoughts :) I want this space to be as functional as possible and open. 1. We're going to put a pocket door to have the option to close off the foyer if needed. This will allow us to close off the entire room, but still leave us the ability to open it for the pass through to foyer. Best of both worlds in my opinion :) 2. I think I'm really liking this "drop zone" space by the garage entry door. It will be great for my purse, charging cell phone and having some sort of cute/small mail sorter on the countertop. 3.Below the sink we can store detergent, stain remover etc for laundry needs. 4. If theres room I'd like to have an open space in a base cabinet to put a nice laundry basket (to bring clothes to put away in). Dirty hampers will be built ins as part of the master WIC (the bag is removable to bring to W & D). No dirty clothes will go in laundry area. 5.The broom closet will store the swiffer, steamer and wet & dry swiffer cloths. The hanging rod to air dry a few items. 6. The upper cabinets are for extra storage misc things. 7. Bench and hooks for jackets and bookbag. Cubbies above for hats, scarves and gloves. 8. Closet with double hanging will store winter, fall and guest coats as well as my boyfriends work bag can go on the floor in here. I'm getting excited!!!

We have 2 different Axxis machines and don't have a problem...I made sure to put some heavy duty rubber feet on the dryer...

Personally I wouldn’t buy anything Samsung. The six appliance repair places around me refuse to work on them since it can take awile for parts to come just to repair. Four of them quit servicing Samsung two years ago when the average repair time was 6 weeks. For myself I wouldn’t choose any appliance that took that long if I needed repairs. I did look into Bloomberg sets as an alternative for expensive Meile and found nothing but good reviews about them. Asked a few repair places about them and said they were easy to work on and easy to get parts for if we needed repairs. When my older Meile sets bite the dust we will replace with Bloomberg. Currently have two washer and dryers in our laundry room. Just replaced a 15 year old Electrolux set with Maytag 5500 series. I needed a compact set for the second and ventless so that’s why we have Meile. Good luck!

Thanks, everyone! Our current master bedroom is only about a foot wider than this plan and we have plenty of space. We have a dresser and two nightstands, and almost all of our clothes are hanging up in the closets. Our two dogs also have their beds in the room and we had a bassinet attached to the side of our bed with plenty of space next to it. I think we should be fine, especially having two closets. In terms of the laundry room, growing up my parents had the laundry room on the second floor where we all slept and it was really convenient in terms of hanging and folding laundry. We could hear it if we did a load at night, but it didn't bother me at all. In my current house we have it on the first floor. We have really tall ceilings, a long flight of stairs, and on top of that, I am 5'2" with short legs, so I hate lugging the laundry up and down the stairs because it's just awkward to carry. I think we are going to go with moving the laundry to the second floor and extending the powder room, current laundry room (which will be a small office), front door, and porch out about a foot to make the office a little wider. The room off of the dining room is going to be a sun room and playroom for the kids. We are asking that the doors be removed and possibly making the walls pony walls. We do a lot of cooking and baking and we have quite a few countertop appliances, which is one of the big reasons for the large pantry. We plan to store all of the countertop appliances in there. Our current kitchen is similar sized, but we have a very small pantry and I cannot stand it. It's constantly cluttered and our cabinets are full, so the large walk-in pantry was my non-negotiable on this.
