For both areas, you're going to need furniture pieces in a narrow profile. Measure twice - buy once! (for both spaces, plus the size of the furniture) Furniture looks different in a second hand store than in your place. Even chairs need to be measured. Depending on their design, they could be huge, and might not fit in your space. You don't need to fill up the space - just be sure each piece of furniture does double duty. For example, get a round coffee table that is a storage ottoman. That way you can use it as storage, extra seating for guests, as well as a place to put a drink. (get a large tray to put on it for that purpose) Take advantage of your vertical wall space. Put shelves there. When you get a piece of furniture, think to yourself - what else can I use this piece for?

1. In a living room of this size, you want to go for the smallest arm rests possible for the couch/love seat/upholstered chairs..

2. For your coffee bar/nook, how many people do you usually have there? How about a round table in the middle and a few chairs around it?

I can have up to eight people here at one time and the couches can fit across from each other
