I made at least a dozen scarves as Christmas gifts this past season, and had loads and loads of compliments on them. I used Red Heart pomp-a-doodle yarn, purchased at Michaels. I knit two stitches between each pompom. Very fast, very cute. I also made stuffed "aliens" for my kids and my nieces, which were a big hit. It looks as if Michaels may be discontinuing that yarn, and have replaced it with their own "Loops and Threads" pom-pom yarn. Their pompoms are much closer together; there is no way to get two stitches between the pompoms. Ohh, I love Maine Cottage, but I can't bring myself to spend $500 per chair for this room. Or even $350, which seems to be the cheapest one they have. The more I am looking and thinking about chairs, the more I think I want something like a Parsons chair or at least something other than a straight wood chair. These chairs might be pulled over to watch TV, etc... and I want them to be comfortable. On the other hand, they will also be used when sitting for art projects, so they need to be practical for that purpose. Those bright orange chairs that lukk posted might be just right. They look like they could be hosed right off! rose, I have a Home Goods about 20 minutes away but it's rare to find 4 of the same chairs there. I might check, anyway. If nothing else, I'm sure I'll be able to find a couple of turquoise or orange accessories for the room!

MiMi - I love it! You are a very talented artist. I really appreciate walking into a room and finding the unexpected. My speculation is that your home is fabulous. There is nothing offensive about the human body so I would guess you are fine.
