Comments (1)Personally, I love the darker as well. It does have some red notes, but since you say that one of your goals is 'warm', well, I think it is much warmer looking than the lighter flooring. WE have an even darker floor in a hallway, and it camouflages dirt well until the morning sun hits it in the right way...then you see all the dirt. But it isn't hard to keep clean....See MoreUnknown style, but what I like. Please help me pick pulls.Photos
Comments (10)I was unable to get a photo of my cabinet doors after work. I was late getting out and the cabinetmaker's hours and mind did not match. I am curious as to what cabinet doors you would use these pulls on. The drawer fronts are completely plain and this is where I want the pulls. The small knobs are going on the door at the lower corner. The brushed pewter with the design inside the circle is a square knob 1 1/8". The square at the bottom of the door is a 2" square. Would you please show me some photos of the knobs you would use on these doors? I thought I was about ready to place my order, but now I am back to square 1, no pun intended. I originally had picked satin nickel cup pulls for the drawers and a square satin nickel knob, but the knob was 1 1/2" and seemed to large for the 2" square. Thank you. Comments (5)Natural = classic AND contemporary AND modern AND transitional! Whew. Natural wood works in every situation. Transitional interiors often have white + natural wood as a theme. Think white cabinets (in a more traditional style) with butcher block counters and modern SS appliances. They are often light and airy. The light and airy is pulled off by the natural hardwoods. Contemporary = sleek but comfortable styling without too much drama = natural hardwood. Modern (eg. Scandinavian Modern) = big, scopey walls, big splashes of colour (both furniture and art) set off by natural/pale coloured hardwood (European Oak). Classic (think Museum flooring) = natural hardwoods or hardwood with an amberizing finish (oil based) that has turned "honey gold" over time. All of these themes can be 'pulled off' using a natural hardwood colour. As pretty as the white washed floors are, they are a trend that will (eventually) pass....See MoreSarah Davis
