What an Exciting Day!

I've raised and released so many gulf frits, I'm going to let them raise themselves from now on. I saw this near the passionvines today, a sure sign of even more eggs to come -

I saw a red admiral through the window, it stayed plopped down on the false nettle plants in containers that I'm planning on planting this fall or spring, but it left when I walked outside. I couldn't find a RA egg, but then they're so hard to find, there may be one there.

At about the same time, I saw a red-spotted purple 'nectaring' on the patio bricks -

I couldn't get a good picture, because it wouldn't go into full sunlight.

As I was going back in the house, I saw a palamedes swallowtail flying through the back yard!

If I can stay healthy, I think I can make what was once a butterfly desert into at least a fairly good butterfly sanctuary, maybe better. And there are JILLIONS of hummers!
