Cleaning a cat/butterfly cage?

What an exciting few days we've had! On Thursday, I watched a BST lay eggs on my parsley. Yesterday, two BST's we'd raised last fall and overwintered in the garage (with much help from this forum) finally emerged! My four-year-old nearly turned herself inside-out with excitement. It was so beautiful to release them in our garden and witness their first flight.

So now I want to bring the BST eggs inside to raise. How should I clean the container that held last year's cats and the chrysalises? I don't want to poison the little babies. I do have Mrs Meyers dish soap, which is supposed to be environmentally friendly, but it is so heavily scented, I'm hesitant to try it.

What's the standard cleaning routine?

Thanks!

Amy
