Does anyone have anything good to say about Viking?
Comments (117)We bought entire suite of Viking Appliances 4 years ago. 36" dual fuel range replaced 3 times under warranty. Built in panal ready fridge replaced once. Built in dishwasher just had a pump replaced. Only 2 people live in the home. So glad I had extended warranty. Almost forgot the convection microwave replaced once and broke twice. I have no idea how reliable the other "premium brands" are. Appliances in the old kitchen were 25 years old still running....See MoreCan anyone recommend a good skin care line?
Comments (40)I just got home from taking my son to SFO to fly to Spain for a year of study abroad, and on the way home I stopped in Berkeley to see an old school friend who I have recently reconnected with via Facebook. She and her husband make organic skin care products and it was fascinating to see all the natural ingredients that go into them. They had pots of things bubbling away that will eventually be distilled and incorporated into their products. She sent me home with some products and I will report back on how I like them....See MoreIs Charlie's Soap/Sport wash any good compared to Persil, Ariel?
Comments (31)I wonder if anyone else is as sick and tired of the run-around that these two brands (Charlies and Sensi-Clean/Sportwash)are doing to people. It should be a federal law that they disclose all chemcials in these products. I spent countless hours trying to get the ingredients and got the same old "trade secret" crap. I am tired of the game they are playing with consumers and will not buy anything from anyone that does not tell me what is in it. You could be killing yourself and not know it and paying money for it on top of that. These company(ies) have only their best interests and fat wallets in mind. They can put anything into their detergents including cancer causing chemicals and you are buying it and putting it on your children (it isn't rinsing out 100% no matter what they say) or in their ground water (imagine 2 loads everyday, 7 days a week going into your soil-it adds up)especially if you have a drinking well it winds up there eventually. I now beleive they are the same and I won't buy either of these products again and will keep looking for an honest company that I don't have to worry about every time I put a load of clothing in my laundry machine....See MoreAnyone have a good, small, nonstick skillet to recommend?
Comments (31)After cooking, clean by putting hot water in pan and bringing to a boil. Do not use detergent, also avoid putting cookware in cold water. Wipe dry with a paper towel. Apply a fine coating of oil or spray. Cast iron is not DW safe--if that's what they wrote I will correct them on my next phone call Ok what they mean is(I assume this is for the cast iron pans, right ?) Loosen any bits on the pan with hot water, you can use a very soft scrubbie sponge--do not use soap since it will ruin the "seasoning", never put any hot pan in cold water(cast iron or not) completely dry the pan after use(I put my cast iron on a low flame until completely dry) put a little oil just enough to coat and wipe with a paper towel-this protects the pan from rusting(I also dry my wok on a low flame and coat the inside with coconut oil after every use) Cast iron is very easy to care for and Lodge is US made and has small pans. Here is a link that might be useful: lodge...See MoreFun2BHere
