Does anyone know anything about the bush lilies?
Comments (3)I had no idea what you were talking about until Ladywindsurfer posted. I do have one Clivia miniata. It is a houseplant for me, although a pretty hardy and unusual* one. I place it outdoors after the last frost date and it stays out there until night temps drop into the 40s. In the winter I pretty much ignore it, not watering it much, if at all, until late March/April when it goes back outside. In summer I place it near the patio on the south side, but under a shade tree. In the winter it is on a shelf in a corner on the dark side of my kitchen. Originally I kept it in a closet over the winter, as the instructions tag told me to do (sort of like with Amaryllis), but I believe they underestimated the length of winter here. Inside it does better in low light and where I can check it and give it a smidge of water it if it gets bone dry along towards spring. I also like to watch the big round seed pods ripen and turn red over the winter. It usually blooms shortly after being put outside and then sets its seedpods. Leaves are thick and big and last for a long long time. *Unusual as a houseplant, not because it is rare, but because it flowers outside and the seedpods are what you see when it is a houseplant! P.S. mine is about 5 years old, never been repotted and I can't remember if I ever fertilized it, must do something about that and the repotting when I get around to it. Comments (1)Its a nice product, we've sold a lot of them over the years and never once had someone come back for a warranty claim. Good Luck!...See MoreDoes anyone have a Viking Rockport with cantilever deck?
Comments (10)Hi Sharla The installer told me that the ring covers any gap between the top edge of the fiberglass and the deck if there is any settling of the concrete. The ring supposedly moves with the deck to hide the gap. I have been looking through some fiberglass pool brochures and from what I can see it looks like some have it and others don't. I like the looks better without it, but I will go along with what the builder says and hope it turns out. The builder has done many pools and he said I'm the only one who has ever been concerned with the looks of the ring, so I'm hoping it won't be that big a deal. They are scheduled to pour the deck today. I really like your pool and decking, nice clean look....See MoreWelch, WV does anyone know anything about it?
Comments (7)Thanks everyone for you input. After much discussion and sleeping on it we have decided not to buy the house. I think if I were closer to retirement we might reconsider but we kept thinking about paying for a house for 2 years that we couldn't live in it and decided it wasn't a good idea. We absolutely loved the house. It was 4162 sq ft.on 22 mountain acres. Indoor pool, spectacular great room, 4 br suites. Would have to buy appliances for the kitchen. They had resurfaced the counter tops and some of the kitchen cabinets with white glazed tile which I hate in a kitchen. That would have to be redone. Oh, did I say it was selling for $99,900?!!!! With DH's past heart attacks and back surgeries I'm not sure about the level of care even though there is a new hospital there. Just for the record I was born in Huntington, WV and lived in a little town probably less than 100 miles from there when I was a baby. My mother was born and raised in WV and my Daddy was born in Alabama but raise in eastern, KY not far from WV. Linda...See Moregapeach01
