Calibrating printer before using Avery software
Comments (3)After you fold your paper, let's say vertically. See where the crease in the paper falls on the numbered graph. My vertical crease falls on one notch below the center square figure so on the vertical box in the calibrate printer window I typed -1 Below box are minus numbers, above are the + numbers. Where ever your paper crease fell that's the number you put in. Luckily my horizontal was creased right at the center, so I put nothing in that box. I use all Avery products and print postcards and labels without any problems. I do a check first before printing good copy by using plain paper and Draft printing choice first. Hold the test printed page over the card stock and see if each card or label lines up before using the good stock and Best printing ink option....See MoreConnecting wireless printer without a pc
Comments (3)There should be instructions with your printer if it is "wireless" capable. I am not familar with Epsons as I have HP, but I expect the procedure is similar. Before you begin, you will need two pieces of information: The network name of your Router/Gateway and the security code sometimes called password. The ID name might have the form "2 wire488"; the security key may have 8 to 12 digits. Often, the security key is on a label on the gateway/router. With these two pieces of information, enter the setup menu on your printer and turn on the radio or whatever it is called. Next, follow instructions to connect to your gateway by suppling the gateway ID and security code. If the instructions do not appear on yoru printer's display, get instructions from its manual. After the ID and security code have been entered, there will be a short delay while the printer and router establishes the wireless connection. Once the printer has been linked to the router, any device on your local area network (LAN) can send print jobs to the printer. However, the sending device must contain a driver for the printer. Once the link has been established, the printer should be able to retain this connection after being shut down and restarted at a later time. Optionally, the link can be turned off at the printer by entering its menu and turning off its radio. This frees the channel on the router. The link is automatically re-established when the printer's radio is turned back on....See MoreNeed new printer..
Comments (10)These days, a printer is almost a disposable item. You can sometimes get a new printer cheaper than the cost of 2 ink cartridges. The downside of your situation is that you don't know if the printer you buy today will be compatible with Win8 when it is released. When Win8 is released, printers that are compatible with it probably won't be discounted much...if at all. I have an HP Officejet 4500 which does an ok job of print-copy-scan-fax and is available in both wired and wireless. It does not tolerate off-brand ink cartridges but it does work well. It might be okay to get you to the day when you get a Win8 computer and a printer that works with it....See MoreLabel maker mavens, can we talk? I'm ready to leap..
Comments (42)Duh. I stand corrected. Me foolish, not them. I meant to say black on white. I'd be surprised if the 9/64 is the security type because it is not even laminated. Too small maybe for that? I have see the security kind, also very new, in a different section with a different code format. Can't find out much about it. Not really sure what it does when it gets "tampered with". Be cool if it beeped or smoked or threw red dye, but I doubt it does much other than "show" it has been messed with....See MoreLeslie Pokrajac
