Any hope for 2 roos living peacefully?
Comments (8)Roo fights can be very nasty. Really, I'd get rid of one of them, since two roos to seven hens is too many anyhow. The only other alternative is to build two seperate enclosures and give each little man a few hens. I had a large Barred Rock roo that lived as the Head Roo for years alongside a small Frizzle banty roo with no problems and never a fight. Then one day my Head Roo took a fall from grace, and that darned Frizzle roo mercilessly chased and flogged him until his head was bloody, he went blind in one eye and he just stuffed himself under a bush. There was a huge uproar in the flock and the hens were constantly running to get away from the fighting. Even with us right there trying to keep the peace the Barred Rock roo would get attacked, no matter what we did. It was time to choose one or the other, and we ended up getting rid of the Frizzle and keeping the Barred Rock (he was a better roo for the girls anyway). After we did, we felt better and the hens were no longer upset--it was a good choice all around, for once they start fighting it usually ends up tragically sooner or later, then you'll regret not taking action sooner. I don't envy you the choice you're going to have to make, it's a tough one. :( Velvet ~:>...See MoreDouble threads...anyone else?
Comments (17)I hope Amy is doing well. I suppose her lawyer’s advice was the same as some of yours...Even though he doesn’t “know about this place” as she said, it IS easily Googlable. How strange that the lamp thread disappeared. Maybe one of the lamps was on a non-compete list, lol. This place certainly belongs on America’s Most Haunted.......See MoreMirror+lamps for small living room
Comments (16)heidi, I only now see your post, Houzz sometimes works in some miraclous ways I guess. Or my own laptop, I don't know. Thank you for answering, that really helps. Actually I love the idea of books in the glass cabinet. I'm prejudiced-a) I love books, a lot b) I love glass cabinets)) As JudyG, I really love the table you thrifted as well. And I think the painting looks just right for the wall...it's not an empty wall, it will be related to these two chairs. I love Anthropoligie hardware a lot and use it a lot (and Antropologie in general), but as I look at the room I must say, yours look just right to me somehow. Corresponds with all the window hinges etc. Has integrity. I don't know how to put it. Looks like it belongs. Wouldn't switch it. Now, knowing the height you have over your fireplace would help with looking into mirrors..for now I also looked into wood framed ones, and tell me if I'm completely off the mark oh they won't let me save pics..okay https://www.artfulhome.com/product/Wood-Mirror/Burl-Vine-Painted-Mirror/146407 i like the frame being wood, and it has this fluidity of just the colors you prefer. I like the rectangular shape less, and leaves, less too. These same craftsmen have several more mirrors which I love more-same idea but more interesting shapes etc-but all of them are more expensive. The rest are 550$ and up. This one is under 300$. But I'd still look at others just to see whether you like the idea. (The website itself is very good and reliable and they do have promotions from time to time.) Now, if this one wasn't so huge..that's an interesting one. I'm afraid it's too big, too black, in short, too imposing. But I'll still post it, it's intruguing in its way. They have it in natural rattan as well. (ok, now Anthro doesn't let save images too. I'm sorry, will have to be links) https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/sculpted-rattan-mirror?category=mirrors&color=001&type=STANDARD&size=One%20Size&quantity=1 This one is a bit more expensive, but has a potential of dissappearing in color but still being present with texture. Personally think it's overpriced. Oh well. https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/foglia-mirror?category=mirrors&color=011&type=STANDARD&size=ROUND&quantity=1 much more expensive and seems too big. But I like the mantel shape https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/cecilia-mirror?category=mirrors&color=001&type=STANDARD&quantity=1&size=MANTEL Did you like similar in Anthro, or what did you like there? Then one can see whether others carry something similar for less. Finishes in Anthro can be subpar too, not justifying the price. Happenned to me with a light of theirs, since then even more I prefer to not buy new. But new can be returned more easy of course. that one made me smile..not sure though I'd go for so many obvious nature references. So it won't compete with the rug and especially the table, you know? But did make me smile https://www.amazon.com/Benzara-Wooden-Branch-Wall-Mirror/dp/B00JXFSPVO/ref=sr_1_113?crid=1FGJ0YY6WSLKL&dchild=1&keywords=wood+frame+mirrors+for+wall&qid=1610493177&sprefix=wood+frame+mirror%2Caps%2C220&sr=8-113 now that has spikes... https://www.amara.com/us/products/spike-wall-mirror and this one I like pecisely for color. but they have it in clear too. Too round though. Not sure about it at all, but. https://www.amara.com/us/products/circum-round-wall-mirror-amber#reviews-bottom (This Amara website has tons of pillows by the way. All price points. Check them out. ) OK I'll wrap my long post for now. Just to add how I love the proportions and colors of the lamps posted above. Pity they can't be directed, but depends whether you need them mostly for ambience, or for tasks as well, in this living room. All in all I like these first guys the most for your room, I guess. I mean the mirrors. Now there was another store, they have interesting things there sometimes, and not expensive either, but luckily for everyone the name escapes me. Everybody knows it. wayfair can be a great source too, but I'm like a guest who says "good bye" and continues to talk....See MoreLiving room chairs are not the same as years ago!
Comments (14)Reupholstery usually costs as much as buying new, but it is better than putting something in a landfill if you like your old chairs. I always have bought my upholstered furniture from Ethan Allen. I believe most of their stuff is still made in America so it doesn't have to go on a ship and sit in the ocean for weeks. I just ordered a sofa which was ready in five weeks. If you use fabric that they have on hand they can be pretty quick. I was amazed since we were originally quoted a 12 week wait. Of course they would rather you be pleasantly surprised than waiting longer than you think you're going to, so they're going to give you a long time horizon. You may end up paying closer to $2,000, but it does depend on which chair style and fabric you choose....See MoreUser
