Odd Entryway decor, please help
Comments (4)Yes....what was the problem with the trees? This room would look great filled with well-chosen, i.e. tall and stately and glamorous, plants. The light available would let them thrive and they can't hurt the porcelain floor. The space looks to be at least 12 feet high, so you need to be careful of scale for anything you put there....normally scaled furniture, tables etc. may look really off. Is there any particular function you need here? Do you already have storage for shoes, coats, umbrellas near this entrance? What is your climate, how hot or cold will this space get seasonally, is there a risk of mud being tracked in? One obvious item....those little ceiling lights in no way match the size and glamour of this space, they will need to be changed out, but only as part of an overall redesign....See Morehelp me decorate this entrance wall
Comments (5)I am not a fan of niches. I would sheetrock over it. Then either a mirror with a console under it and a lamp. Or a large piece of art. You can certainly still put a large piece of art in the niche. Not sure about chairs there....See MoreEntry decor help
Comments (10)The house is lovely. It might be time to step-up your design style to complement the architecture of your home. This cabinet below is from Crate & Barrel the mirrors from a variety of sources. Looks like the living room furniture could use a boost in terms of style also. Why not consider a fountain outside the entry instead? Your other choice could be in the curve of the staircase, but I would select something tall and narrow nestled in tropical plants. I would leave any green to tropical plants and select a dynamic area rug for the foyer....See Moreentryway decor help please!
Comments (9)Looks like the table matches the handrail and your dining table, so it seems to work fine. I would like the table with just the vase and without the lantern, tho. Either just the vase or maybe a low tray or something if you need a place to drop keys. Maybe an entry rug or runner? No to a mirror at the top of the stairs. Yes to some art....See Morejpp221
