Is your whole home painted in Edgecomb Gray or is it just specific rooms? Do you have pictures available? Congrats on the new build!

Almost the entire home will be in this color except for the half bath, laundry room, and bonus room. I don't have great pics right as now but I'm attaching the home we are building from the Southern Living site:

In our beach house, our master bedroom walls are Edgecomb and the ceiling is Healing Aloe. It looks great, if I do say so myself!

You do NOT want a dark ceiling! Use Ben Moore Whie Dove ..... or add a tiny bit of black to whatever your trim is and use a flat finish on the ceiling . You need to know your "some trim white" to avoid a dirty look above you.

I wouldn't do this for every room, but Hemlock would be bold with a white trim. You could use one of the lighter shades of Hemlock in all rooms.

This is not a large house. I would stick with regular "ceiling white" paint or it will be claustrophobic. Use Haint Blue for the ceiling on the porch. And re-think that gray for the entire house. It will be SO dreary. Look at pale greens - I've just texted a friend who has used such a color in two houses and they both have looked so calm and restful. I'll post the color when I hear back from her.

Color is BM "Silken Pine".

It's the most wonderful neutral background color! It's fabulous with touches of red, or coral or with blue/white porcelain - it's fabulous with brown, too. It just goes with everything. SO much better than yet another gray house.

Have you tested and seen Edgecombe Gray in your house? I tried it in mine and it looked too drab and depressing. I went with Grant Beige instead, which is a bit warmer. I like Simply White for trim (semi-gloss) and ceilings (flat).

@chispa I haven't but a friend of mine used it in her house and it looks great! But I will check out the Grant Beige!

One of my favorite tricks is to use the same paint as the wall color, but dilute it with white paint. I test it until I get the shade the I want.

@anglophillia I'm not sure a 4000 sq/ft home is considered "not a large house", but thank you for the recommendation!

I have Ashley gray walls and am lighting them to Edgecomb gray. I hope I’m not making a mistake. I don’t wasn’t my walls to Ruben yellow

Edgecomb is NOT yellow . Trust me on that. Beautiful with the formula reduced to one half as well. Use a crisp white ceiling, ( decorator white )

I painted my living dining Creamy Mushroom by Behr when I moved in my new house. But with time i realized how this color changes in different light exposure. I'm adding two pictures one in daylight and one in evening. I like how the color is more towards warm gray with daylight but hates when it shows brown and green undertone in the evening. Now I am changing to Edgecomb Gray hoping to get a nice greige color with least undertones. Please let me know if I'm making a right decision. TIA
