Buying A Fireplace Online
Comments (3)In my personal opinion, purchasing anything that will burn inside the home should be purchased through a local company/dealer. If there are problems, the local dealer can solve them. They have professional installers that will install the unit to all codes. The homeowner's insurance companies like that. If not professionally installed, red flags go up all over the place in the insurance office. And if they aren't notified that you have a new fireplace, and something happens, you may not be covered. Comments (3)Are they just cleaning them or doing something to make them look 'new' again? I've taken mine apart, vacuumed all the dust off, wiped off any soot (if it's set up correctly you should have little to no soot), then added more sand and ashes if it needed it. Use a soft bristle brush to clean them and no harsh cleaners. You may end up removing the faux wood look if cleaners are used. It's not difficult and you can always take a photo to help you remember how the logs were stacked! : ) If they're coming in and completely cleaning the fireplace & burner, checking the lines for any leaks or damage (in addition to what you mentioned) then it's not a bad price!...See Moredoes anyone have the new wolf contemporary 36" gas cooktop?
Comments (125)“does anyone, know if you can install a wall oven under the Wolf cooktop?” @susanrhill34 - there are issues with installing a wall oven under a cooktop. First, there is a clearance issue. You must make certain to abide by the clearance specified for below the cooktop, and the clearance specified for above the wall oven. There often is not enough room for both, so you’d have to find another combination of cooktop and wall oven where there would be enough clearance for both. Second, the wall oven installed under a cooktop will be so low to the ground that when the oven door is open, it is nearly touching the ground, and that low height is awkward and cumbersome for taking things out of the oven that are boiling hot, heavy, and/or sloshing. Third, you would be better served with buying a range. A range would cost thousands less than a cooktop with wall oven underneath including the challenges of installing them....See MoreI am thinking of buying a new TV - recommendations, anyone?
Comments (66)"Neither Consumer Report or Amazon reviews have proven to be worthwhile due to the reviewers giving 5 stars for something they have owned a short amount of time" Ridiculous statement. Of course CR owns the TVs a short amount of time. TVs become obsolete; should CR rate TVs five years old and no longer manufactured? The TVs are rated on performance. "I would take the advice of a post on here may be better in the television section of garden web over anyone else." That makes no sense. Each person has only one TV; he can't do side-by-side performance comparisons....See More- 5 years ago
