Restoration of relief detail on façade?
Comments (1)You need a mason, preferably an "old guy". He will be able to tell you what the material is, how it should be cleaned / restored, and how to preserve it. He can also recommend a firm that will power-wash your brick without harming it....See MoreHow would you change the house exterior?
Comments (4)Are the siding and roof in good condition? The siding looks very nice as is so unless it's in bad condition I would not personally change it as it's a very nice color. When the roof needs replacement black metal sounds nice. I'd suggest the black metal roof that you will eventually have on the house for the pole barn. You could go with a similar color siding on the barn, or go more barn-like with a red or green vertical metal siding. For me the biggest issue isn't the house roof or siding, it's landscaping --- which I know you are working on! I'd hire a really good landscaper and put my money there first as it will do the most for enhancing the exterior of your home. If you have a picture from further away it might help others provide some specific landscaping ideas as well....See Moreneed help changing exterior color scheme for NJ colonial
Comments (3)The gables aren’t a section I would accent on this house, I would just have them the siding color. Handrails too. You need a trim color (white is classic) for all trim, a siding color for all siding including the cables, then two accents, front door and shutter....See MoreContemporary exterior without changing windows?
Comments (4)Hello Allie, you have a beautiful home. The stucco and stone are a wonderful idea to modernize. A soft gray stucco that leans more towards the warmer tones, rather than blue or green tones could be beautiful. Can you remove the window grids or are they in between the glass. Remove them if you can, and paint trim black around the windows. The wood door could be enhanced with a richer stain. I would try not to paint it. Wood front doors are a natural element that compliments stonework. The house is very square/boxy looking with no soft lines. What would you think about cladding the columns with cedar as well adding some archway in the overhang, staining the same as door. The base of the columns can have rockwork also....See Moreaichoucha
