Hoya Kerrii help!

I bought a verigated hoya kerrii online and received it in the mail on Monday. I just repot it on Wednesday. Now today is Friday and I just noticed that the leaves look like this (see attached pictures). Does anyone know what this means?? Any advice? I haven't watered it at all or anything, all I

have done is repot it in some cactus/succulent mix and placed it a bit to the side of a western window. Thank you!!

i wouldnt have repotted a plant stressed due to shipping ... next time ... give it a week or 3 ... to settle down .. before you stress it again ...

i hope you used dampened media in repotting ... i would have watered it in after planting.. to settle the media ... why havent you watered it???

is it the whole plant ... or just that leaf???

frankly.. things dont happen that fast in the plant world .. imo .. if you just got it monday.. i doubt its much of anything you did .. perhaps it just showed up.. due the the shipping stress ... and the additional planting stress ....

there is a houseplant forum.. you might find peeps with experience there ...

ps: looks like you can propagate these with leaves .. i might just take that leaf off.. and see if i could make babes with it ... google such ... maybe you can turn this into a positive ...

Sorry I thought I put this in the houseplant part of the forum. My mistake. The place I got it from advised to repot it after 2-3 days, so that is what I did. I didn't water it right away because the soil it was in was still very damp, and Hoyas tend to like to be more dry.

The larger leaves look like that. Somehow the smaller ones are still fine.

Hi Sara, The leaves do feel very firm and the vines look like they are healthy also. I treated the leaves to a Neem spray because this is supposed to help combat fungus, as well as pests. I leached the soil also in case it had been over fertilized by the grower. Someone has said that over fertilization can cause the black/brown spots as well. It just seems so odd that the spots occur only on the back sides of the leaves. I also put a peeled clove of garlic down in the soil, as it is also supposed have natural fungicidal properties. Yet another person has said to rub cinnamon on the affected leaves. Within a month or so of the cinnamon treatment, the spots may fade. Either nothing will happen with all these treatments, or some VERY interesting things will happen.:) I won't throw the plant away, just cuz I'm curious to see how it all turns out. I will, however, isolate it from my other plants in case whatever is ailing it is contagious. Thanks, Sara, for your input. GH

Hey Denise, I tried to post this several hrs. ago, but think GW was having trouble. So I'll try again ... Speaking of pink leaves on H. variegates, look what I found yesterday, on just a Krimson Queen, but still one we all know & many love, so pretty. Snowed here yesterday, several inches, so a splash of color is extra nice. I no longer have my green & white Kerri (which was hydro); you & I had discussed some of these are unstable & make strange growth, mine pooped out maybe a year ago last Summer. Thanks for asking abt my losses w/ Hurricane Sandy, it was (IIRC) sadly, lost 7 of the 11 Hoyas w/ which David had gifted me. Am happy to say the Macrophyllas made it. A couple of the other large leafed ones too. Sadly the loss included a couple of cuttings I'd successfully re-hydrated. Oh well! Glad to say I still have my all green Kerrii which also grows Hydro in Leca stones & bloomed 2.5 yrs. after cutting. Happy to report Denise that both Sans cylindrica leaves you'd shared w/ me have taken off. Hope you saw I posted some of that, likely as Sans. forum (thanks again). Hey HoyaLove. Farrah, Sorry this thread is 2 yrs. old & is no longer active; it's always best to start a new thread. 100 degrees is mighty hot, I could imagine that might be why, did you leave it out in the hot sun? Was the store air conditioned? If so, A/C store vs. 100 degrees is very extreme change, might account for it. Drooping plant vs dropping leaves are VERY different things. How about a picture? That will give us an idea of your plant's status. Are you in the USA? If so, we could probably refer you to reputable vendors, even if it might only be Kerrii cuttings, rather than full plants.

Looks like extreme heat damage. I had one that the mailman stuck in my mailbox instead of the front door. It was in the mailbox for about 3 hours. I'm in Tx and its been over 103° even hotter in the metal box. Anywho, when I opened the box a few of the leaves looked like that. Super thin in some areas. I just cut them off and potted up my cutting like normal. It still looks good.

If it keeps going downhill and you need to make cuttings make sure to include the node on the stem, but if thats worst you might be good. I would mist everything a
