Oh, those colors !

ooh - we had a fungus in our yard last year - a huge puffball. I thought it looked like a rutabaga.

Just relaxing on the porch.

My son's cat is taking his absence hard ;) Actually, he really is. He just heads to the boy's "suite" upstairs and stays. Mostly. I think I cheered him up. That's the box that I'm putting in everything that my son forgot, or requested when he got there. And cookies.

Thanks Ava. He's a neurotic cat who loves attention and company who visit (he thinks it's to pet him. And they do). He dislikes my cat. sigh.

How are you doing with his absence?

Thanks for asking! We're all pretty mopey. He got fairly homesick the first night. He's at a three-day-long mixer type of event, getting to know everyone and the campus. That seems to be offsetting the down side. It's the evenings that are getting to him. I leave the contacting to him, and I get a lot of texts in the evening. He even called me yesterday. Hopefully he'll settle in next week. I guess my difficulty with it is, you spend all of their lives bonding with them as much as possible, so that they'll be well-adjusted adults. And then it just suddenly gets cut off. It's such a strange feeling!
