What do you have on the wall above your master bath tub?
Comments (28)I have 2 windows (with faux wood blinds covering them thank you) at right angles above the tub in the master bath, so no wall art there. However, I do have a prominent piece of wall separating 2 mirrors over our vanities.........This wall is crying for something but I haven't found it. The other day, I saw some really pretty decorative wall clocks and have been thinking about that. For some reason I wasn't sure if it would be odd to have a pretty wall clock hanging there, although honestly it kind of makes sense. What do you think? The ones I saw (at Ross or TJMaxx) were round and had nice detailed frames. I am linking a nice substantial one I just saw on the o site, just wondering what the decorating experts here think of a decorative clock as a piece of décor in a bathroom.square not round but a pretty clock...See MoreRemoving receiving wall on tub/shower combo. Crazy idea? Shower head?
Comments (2)I would have loved to do that. Except, it will mean moving all the plumbing, including the toilet. And there is a vent next to the toilet as well that will need to be moved. It sounded like all that would cost a fortune. No?...See MorePony wall and glass screen for end of tub/shower combo?
Comments (15)Three months later...Research has shown me that a pony wall with tile on one side and glass on the top of the pony wall is not very stable since I will not have a tub against the pony wall to stabilize it. I know the pony wall can be bolted to the concrete and one side wall. Some have put a metal rod or pipe in the pony wall. I have read that sometimes the grout starts cracking on the pony wall...maybe due to wall movement or the wrong grout? I originally wanted a pony wall to make the bathroom lighter since it does not have a window. Now, I am thinking about having a full height wall because the pony wall has a view of the toilet. Now, I am worrying about having enough light....See MoreI need to replace my old plastic shower tub combo with other tub.
Comments (8)I replaced my one piece acylic tub/shower with a new tub and tiled walls. You need to figure out what size tub will fit your space and buy an alcove tub. Spacing is measured from wall stud to opposite wall stud. A 60" tub with a 30" width is generally what will fit in an alcove space (sometimes 32"). Make sure the new tub drain is on the same end as your current tub. You will need new new walls with proper water proofing for the tile. Are you planning on replacing your flooring too. It may or may not need to be done depending on what you find when you take the tub out. Good luck with your project.
