I would run them the length of the house like you suggested.

Why don't you have your cabinet's wood grain in the vertical direction? Horizontal seems odd to me for cabinets, since the grain on one cabinet will not align with that on an adjacent cabinet.

It's more for aesthetic reasons, I just love the look of it :D

Understood. How do you plan to handle the mismatched horizontal wood grain patterns on each adjacent wood cabinet?

The only cabinet that would have mismatched wood grain is the one by the wall (with kitchen sink) but to me, it looks fine

We've made an interesting observation in our duplex. In DD and DSIL's side with windows on the south (higher windows) and large sliders on the north, the LVP runs east to west. On our side with southern 2/3 glass door with full sidelights and large northern windows, our LVP runs south to north. Because of the way the light, particularly the southern light hits the floor down grain on our side, paw prints are a constant bane and I mop at least 3 times a week, while with the same flooring, same dogs, and the same amount of activity, paw prints aren't even noticeable on their side even after a week without mopping, because the light comes in higher and cross-grain.

I have most light coming through from a large sliding door at the living room, adjacent to the entrance. I have a big window at the side on the wall in the living/dining and window in the kitchen. Which direction of flooring would you reckon?
