looking for help with type mirror and lighting for this powder room
Comments (5)you could do lots of types. personally I would do something w/sconces since you only have the one sink. or just do a full size mirror (a little bit smaller than the vanity length) or round again, something w/lights. that wall is awfully bare. what else are you doing on it? anything above the toilet? wallpaper, art, sconces,,,,...See MoreSmall Powder Room Mirror and Light Questions
Comments (5)This combination of materials in this small room is................a......not good. There doesn't appear to be a basis for the selection of wood-look tile and the metallic disco wallpaper. Selections for such a small room have to be made collectively or you will just add more and more onto the design pile you have created. IMO don't compound the selections with a pendant light to jazz it up. Jazz you got. A good solution,.......not so much. : - ) For a small, utilitarian bathroom like this, I might have started with art as my inspiration and then made the additional selections based on that. You can likely select a dozen paint colors from the art. Any color would be successful in this room. A tall narrow mirror that mimics the curves of your fixtures is the best solution I could arrive at for this space....See MoreWhat lighting would you choose over large round mirror in powder room?
Comments (2)To get ideas, search rustic bathroom lighting on Pinterest. If only wanting 20 watts in ceiling light, consider how much light you will need over mirror and a single cone shape may not provide enough. In regards to the ceiling light below, it takes up to 60 watts so if needing more light you can go higher than 20...See MorePowder room mirror & wall color help
Comments (15)You def need both recessed lighting and wall lighting especially if your style is coastal which is light and bright. On that note do you have any other bathroom styles you like? Because there are no windows here which really goes against coastal design (hard to execute without windows) Coastal design is inspired by beach homes in warm places that tend to have tons of bright natural light pouring in. Another thing I almost think keeping your old vanity and repainting it would lead to a better look sorry if I offend you but the vanity you included looks like a bare minimum standard cheap rental bathroom vanity that's in stock at the hardware store. Your current one has symmetry at least and you can change out the top. I agree with another commenter that the items you picked don't seem like a cohesive look. I don't know your time frame for this but I'd take a step back and think all the choices through from the knobs and pull colors to the trim colors. Bathrooms are one of the hardest areas to design there's a lot of things in a small space and you have to think about all of it together. I made this mistake on a bathroom and to this day I'm still trying to make it work 🙃...See MoreSindy W
