Seeking help on what I think might be a bad contractor job
Comments (6)HI, I dont know what is on the rim, unfortunately. There is a modest amount of heat coming from a single vent near the ceiling. It is inadequate to heat the room. I had hoped that the wall and foundation insulation would be better at keeping the heat that does come into the room. I'll try to dig up what I can at the foundation. It goes down about 4 feet. What kind of waterproofing do you recommend? And what kind of rigid do you recommend? I see some corning drain-mat in another post. Should I add that and backfill w/ gravel? I appreciate the helpful comments. Thanks a bunch. This is not a good situation to be in....See MoreNeed Advice on New Concrete Driveway Problems
Comments (9)First, you double posted this question. Please delete the other one. I do not know if there is a way to fix this problem. I do know that the contractor who did the work should not have scheduled a pour when rain was forecast. They also should have better figured how much concrete was needed so the second truck was there for the other half of the pour. Uneven surface and a bad texturing suggest a lack of experience. You did not get the fix you were promised. You may have to contact a lawyer to give your complaint some teeth. I'm sure you do not want to pay more money to get the job done right, but sometimes there is no choice. This answe should bump your question to the top of list again, so perhaps someone with more concrete experience can explain what can be done to fix this....See MoreBad concrete job, can this be fixed?
Comments (8)We bought a house with exposed aggregate front porch and patio below it. I dont know how many years it had been there before we bought the house, but, we lived there 28 yrs, and the porch and patio looked as good when we sold it, as it did when we bought it. It looked nothing like yours, so to me, yours looks like a complete redo....See MoreBad Concrete Job
Comments (2)Sometimes, the workers are under the influence. I like the finish, but not the relief cuts. I am in CA, in an area that moves: dirt absorbs rain, swells...summertime, dirt shrinks. I suggest requiring the contractor to perform the job he was hired to do, was there a contract with a statement of work, a work plan that you approved?...See Morestrategery
