Backsplash suggestions for Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold

We have chosen Silestone ECG quartz for our new kitchen countertops. The perimeter cabinets will all be white (not too warm but not stark either) and island is Sherwin Williams "Amazing Gray". I am stuck on what to do with the backsplash. I have seen pictures of simple white backsplashes that look nice but I also don't want white on white on white. I'd love something subtle to break up the white upper and lower cabinets. I do love the calacatta gold marble backsplash options (in subway or mosaic patterns) but not sure if that would be "competing" with the countertops.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am doing the Cloe tile with my calacatta gold counters. I’m praying it looks ok!!

I would not do a marble backsplash with marble look quartz. It will most certainly clash. Have you considered extending the quartz up as the backsplash? A lot of homeowners so that and it is stunning!

I can’t speak to the MSI stone, but we have the calacatta gold and really like it. It is very white and the veining is more subtle than the other fake marble quartzes we saw. It was expensive, but since we used it for our backsplash and counter we decided to splurge.

IMO you can wait for backsplash for a very long time and I honestly would not choose white I woudld choose a gray from the counters in a large format glass subway tile and I never like mixing real stone with fake it does not do either material a favor. The other option would be a large backspals in the same material as the counter.

I have seen the quartz as backsplash, and while it does look nice, it also has a more modern look than what I’m going for.

We are planning to "copy" the look of this kitchen but will use Eternal Calcatta Gold instead of Cambria Torquay.

I am going to wait until countertops are in to make the final decision, but I think I will add that tile into the mix.

Carly or anyone- Do you mind sharing what tile backsplash used with the ECG quartz? My designer does not recommend marble. She suggested porcelain or glass tiles. Noting the polished quartz has a different feel than marble. Plan to have white cabinets + island ( BM-Chantilly Lace) & gold tone hardware & lights.

Have a look at this thread. They used Cloe Tile with Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold. It really looks gorgeous and I've bookmarked it myself for a future project.

I agree that mixing the real marble with the Silestone may not work well.

But I think you can put some sample boards together for your favourite choices and lean them up against the wall to help you visualize. You can also try different grout colours on your sample boards.

The Cloe tile has significant variation and I think that is a plus. The problem of matching the white of your cabinets with the white in the Silestone and another white in your backsplash can be really tough. They are never all going to be the same and if you miss on one of the choices, then something is going to look dingy. But I think the colour variation in the Cloe tile will help with that, pull all the whites and some of the colour from the Silestone together.

I'm sure it will be lovely. Please be sure to come back and post photos when you're done as well as work in progress photos.

Thx 4 the quick feedback & thread. Went to the tile store today & everyone thought Calacatta Gold Royal Polished Arabesque Marble Mosaics from Marble systems looked great with the Silestone ECG. Looks better in person.
