You could use a much shorter lamp there to get rid of it blocking the view. However, it seems like a piece of art centered on that wall might not work......... that wall is basically the dividing line between two different rooms, right? (Yes, it's a great room... but the way the furniture is.... it just seems divided.) I would be confused about what to put up for that reason alone.... :) Personally, I would do a grouping of mirrors.... Something hung like these "Garden District" mirrors from Ballard: I'm not sure if the dimensions on these particular ones are right for your space, but I think something similar could work and look very nice.

Buy a second piece. Same size. Or find a larger piece you love. Or paint over an old canvas. Sand a bit if it has lots of texture. Prime with any latex, doesn't have to be white...leftover primer is great for this. So are sample pots. Paint the whole room a light, neutral color. Take the woodwork white. Paint the bookcases to match the wall color so it blends into the wall. Limewash the fireplace and add lights on either side if at all possible. Add a decorative screen as well. Switch out the ceiling fan for a large diameter drum shade light that is flush to the ceiling on a dimmer. Look at putting a graphic wallcovering on the tv wall. Computer area under pass-thru to kitchen or create a small reading. See attached floor plans for conceptual ideas since I don’t have actual dimensions.

Balance: I’d skip drapes as a rod a few extra inches above windows won’t affect the ceiling/window effect. The tv is really high for viewing and I’d be bringing it to eye level. If interested and if room allows, can you turn sectional/console so they are facing windows and place tv there and art above fireplace. If keeping as is, add a huge piece of art between windows again to draw the eyes down into room. . Decor: suggest light textured blinds, a floor lamp and side table in corner with new chair to fill that space nicely and as a nod towards coastal, cushions, lamps and art will do the trick.
