Comments (8)We have a side yard. This satellite image gives you a better idea of the house position. The road to the left of this photo is technically the front of our house, but as you can see, our carport is off of the little alley that ends at our house. That is the only way we can get to our house since the front of the house is a hill....See Moreexterior face lift
Comments (11)White gutters, no shutters, no paint on windows, window boxes if you have a green thumb and will be attentive to them. Remove the shrubs, and the fence. Upgrade the porch floor and add a column to give support to that corner of the roof. Have the big tree checked by a pro for soundness. It could really do a number on your home if circumstances came together just right....See MoreFront of house face lift (advice please!)
Comments (26)Would you recommend matching the brick to the upper color which will be repainted to match the siding Think in terms of color hierarchy: color coding the elements on your home - grouping like things together so it's visually organized. The body of the house should be one uniform color even if the elements aren't. For example, yours is a mix of brick, siding and stucco. Unify them with the same color and it not only looks better it makes more sense so from the curb it "registers" easier consciously and unconsciously. I’m also wondering if the garage surround should be a different, darker color, for some contrast. My mantra is simplify and edit. I wouldn't choose to do that. Same reason as above. Doesn't make sense to chop up the house with color. No reason the garage should be "coded" differently and made to stand out. Unifying the different materials with one color will make the house look bigger too. As far as color options, the roof informs your choices. Whatever you choose for a light near neutral for the body as well as the darker trim color needs to work well with the roof. Gutters should be painted to blend with the roof line/trim. Downspouts painted to blend into the body....See MoreMy house needs a face lift!
Comments (16)ah, ok. better shot. (you're like me. a ton of potted plants! I would elimate a bunch of those and bring in one or two larger pots, trim up the flower beds, and see if that looks a bit better) tried to clean it up a bit and bring in a few ceramic pots. the color of this door would be Cyberspace. the other flowerbed plants need to be trimmed and cleaned up here's more of a Lavender blue w/terra cotta and copper accents You could white wash your brick like it's shown here. look at a small container of Romabio Classico imewash. I think the white wash brick would look nice w/a black door, copper pots, or a bright ceramic pot here's one w/green dark stucco, bright door, bright white trim would also be very pretty....See MoreDeenobay's Mama
