vanity mirrors and lights choice??
need advice for vanity mirrors and lighting
i have 110 inches long white all drawer vanity ,white quartz top and 2 sinks are more towards edges.
how should i do mirrors , one long vs two. recess light vs above mirrors vs side sconces
its a long vanity and sinks are more towards edge so not sure about two mirrors , feels like they will be distant and center part of wall will look empty
one long mirrors with sconces will be expansive since i have to do mirror holes as well
so confused

5 years agoI prefer the separate mirror look. I see what you are saying about the wide middle space though. I have seen a bunch of bathrooms that take care of this space in a few good ways -- adding a countertop cabinet, wall art, large decorative vase, a third mirror, or using gorgeous field tile to make a statement. Take a look and see if you like any of these ideas:

Comments (1)I think a 3-light will probably work. A 2-light in a powder room, maybe, but you'll want something like 3x65W equivalents of light to get ready in the morning. To my eyes the best currently available are coming from Philips & CREE. Comments (2)Without photos, I am going to semi-guess here, but if you have recessed in the bathroom, you probably could go with sconces on the full length mirror, they will provide the proper fill light for applying makeup or shaving. Overhead light creates shadowing on the face. If you decide to do this, then the sconces must be selected, placement on the wall determined and the mirror laser cut for the opening to the electrical box. You cannot install sconces on a mirror after the fact, you will crack the mirror. Comments (5)In my opinion, the framing around the mirror should match your cabinet, assuming it is wood. As far as fixtures and lighting, I think they should match. We redid our powder room last year and are now revamping our hall/guest bathroom, so I understand you concerns....See Morefaz k

5 years agoI like separate mirrors on such a long vanity and this light is one of my favorites it worls well lights up the whole space casts no shadows and is affordable with 150watt halogen bulbs I have them in my house and love them I think they would look awesome in your place.

5 years agoHope it's not too late to say that sconces are far more attractive than over-the-mirror lighting.
A double or triple in the middle and a single or double on the outside of each mirror.
