Revere Pewter for my dining room
Comments (19)RP contrasts enough with white trim -- it's the light wood furniture and the different undertones that aren't working. Your low contrast art adds to the effect. If the furniture stays, I'd look at the RP for the hall and more color in the DR. RP would go great with eggplant if you are considering that direction. The eggplant would also look good with the teal glass in your cabinet. The new photo with the test swatch of RP also shows some Asian china pieces. This grey was one I mentioned earlier (evening dove) and it would look great with the orange/paprika color as well as the dark blue in those. You can see the pairing with peachy and orange tones in the pillows and flowers. Might be easier for DH to handle a deeper grey too. Some guys can't deal with anything resembling purple (you could tell him it's warm or fruity cocoa -- LOL). I think it would also transition well with RP in the entry (look at the ceiling -- a similar idea). Looking at RP on the BM website, they show it with mink and dalton blue-- that goes to a darker grey brown (almost a slightly greyed cocoa) and a pale grey blue (that could go on the ceiling if you get adventurous). Your crystal chandelier (see it in the reflection) would be very pretty against any of these darker colors. Have we confused you more? Will the RP work in the entry so the painter can keep painting? Comments (6)You can definitely mix finishes and I agree that the antique brass would go with your granite, floors and sink. Go for it. Your kitchen will be unique. I like the look of antique brass and have seen some pretty faucets that come with that finish also. My only question is does antique brass have to be polished like regular brass?...See MoreSunny Day pics of BM Revere Pewter w/ Dark Trim!
Comments (18)Patty cakes, Do you think that med. grey small lumbar pillows on the leather chairs would get 'lost'? I saw 2 on sale at JCP yesterday and almost got them but then thought that they might be too dark. IKEA has some nice charcoal throws but I really think that I'd like to try my hand at sewing a few. I get what you mean about not adding a 'color' to the rm. and I agree. I have checked out grey curtains but I have this weird fanatical thing about all of my curtains matching if they can be seen from another rm.! Will check out Parma's sexy rm! Jacy - That's exactly how RP looks w/ my white trim! I have a sickness you know. A paint sickness. I admit that I have a sample of PD. In my house it got a bit too purpley for me. There's an excellent episode of Find Your Style where they did a rm. in Hot Spring Stones (1 up from PD) and the accent wall PD. The accent colors were Silver Sage. It was beautiful! I saved that episode for a very longtime. There was also a woman who used to post here who did her bedroom exactly the way your thinking. Her sign on was Girlwithaspirin. Maybe you can do a google search and a pic will come up somewhere. Caroleoh - Yep - that's the rm. that was BT! It's such a small room that there are only so many angles that I can get pics of. I highly recommend BT!!!! Truly if I'd hadn't begun painting the rest of my downstairs such neutral but rich colors I would never have parted ways w/ BT but I just felt that it wasn't working w/ the whole overall concept that I was going w/ and that I really, really like alot. I can't wait to post finished pics of the downstairs. And I mean finished pics! 3 more pairs of curtains to buy (3 more to glue pom-poms on too), get DH to hang the DR chandelier - and maybe, just maybe, if my decorating piggy bank has enough money - get my big black and white print for the hallway....See MoreGrommet panel drapes in Revere Pewter bedroom
Comments (5)Well, if it were MY room, it would always be the cotton linen. And it would be an ivory or a cream. So since I picked one from each category, I'm not really helping, am I? But you haven't really given enough information. Silk goes with a more formal style, perhaps even a more feminine room. Cotton works better in a more comfortable setting and could even be used to work in a more masculine themed bedroom. So I guess I would need to know more about your style, your furniture, and whether you want your room to be a more soft look or go more crisp and contrast....and that's just to start!
