Spots on new Antique Copper faucet

Amanda W

We bought this faucet from Amazon / Kingston Brass https://www.kingstonbrass.com/product/kingston-brass-kb726alsp/

It was installed less than a month ago, and we are seeing these annoying and seemingly impossible to remove spots on the bottom of the faucet and they are slowly creeping up. I'm not sure if they could have been prevented, but I wasn't expecting this kind of damage so soon. I have reached out to Kingston Brass and am waiting to hear back on what they can do. While I wait...

First, any thoughts? Is it irreversible tarnishing?

Second, what would your solution be? I'm not willing to trust another one of their Antique Copper finished products. We had the countertops drilled for this faucet, so now if I am going to replace I need to find one with four holes. (Bad move on my part, I know, but I loved this faucet and it works well with our windowsill, budget and copper sink.)

Would you buy a Brushed Bronze that has features to match the copper sink? That way if something like this happened again, it wouldn't show the spots?

Really discouraged and disappointed!!

Thanks in advance.
