Comments (5)I love your kitchen!!! You did such a beautiful job. I noticed that you have Holiday cabinets. Are you happy with them? How is their quality and finish. They look beautiful in the showroom. I'm just planning my new kitchen and the KD that I spoke to carries this line. He said it's a custom line. Do you know if the cabinets come framed and frameless? Comments (5)I think the faux Tudor look needs to go. Maybe just paint out the wood trim boards criss-crossing your stucco if you can't remove them. I would go for a sage green top and either a bright green front door or some other light and bright color. Add a light to the front door area so the door is visible. I can't see your walkway to the front door. I assume you have one. If you don't or if the walkway is thin/skinny, replace with a nice wide walkway at least 42-48 inches wide. Have a nice large (deep) planting bed all along the walkway. Something like this pic below. In fact, have a professional landscaping plan put together by a landscape designer - not the guys that maintain lawns, but someone that is a landscape designer by profession. An amazing amount of curb appeal comes from good landscaping. A good landscape designer also designs hardscape. Comments (1)Congratualtions on your new home. I own a 1928 English cottage with stucco exterior and plaster interior walls. When I decided to paint the exterior I sought out painting companies that specialize in older homes, and found a few in my area. The company I hired did a fantastic job. Now I'm getting ready to have interior work done that involves repairing the plaster ceilings and walls and I'm limiting my search to companies that know plaster. There are many painting companies out there but many work primarily in newer homes with sheetrock walls. That's probably just fine if they're only going to put paint on the walls, but when repairs are needed I suggest you hire old house people who understand restoration. Ask for recommendations on NextDoor and then ask questions. Check reviews and websites. The bids will probably be more expensive than the average painting company, but IMO those plaster walls are precious and worth preserving. Good luck!...See MoreTudor Exterior Design Dilemma!
Comments (7)I would keep it all dark and moody. Didn't know Hardie made a stucco looking siding. You should check that out. I'm not a fan of the plops of stone in the stucco, and don't like the siding you have already either. I'd want to go for a more authentic reno and maybe the Hardie product would do it. Here's one that reminds me of a mystery novel with its brooding appearance. That's what I'd go for myself....See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
