Repainting metal coping? Paint type?
Comments (3)If you do use marine paint make sure it does not contain any Biocides (Anti-fowling). The last thing you want is to leech a toxic chemical into your pool. Most likely the rail was powder-coated. I would get a Rustoleum comerical grade paint made for metal that is exposed to water. You will need a primer (a must when painting metal) and then a top coat material....See MoreObsessing on my new patio dining table.
Comments (10)My husband says that it is the color of old copper. I am not getting the spelling right, but veridis or something like that. For those who don't know. My husband and I build furniture for other people. Very high end stuff. We can not afford our own stuff. we can't afford the materials . So normally we make do with out, or we scarf something from goodwill, the metal junkyard, or craigslist. We have furniture made of all sorts of junkyard trash that has been repurposed. It is a case of the cobblers kids without shoes. The chairs came from HEB while we make chairs for the Neiman Markus catalog. HEB is stepping up for us. This table came out well. I think I will pull up to that sea of reflection and mar that perfect surface by doing my bills out here today after coffee. The weather this morning is beautiful....See MoreAny recs for an outdoor patio table umbrella?
Comments (2)What's your budget? I've found there's two ways to go with umbrellas 1) get a really expensive one that seems to be very hardy and then a bad storm trashes it 2) go with a quality somewhat expensive one and replace the fabric part every year or even the total umbrella if you forget to drop it when snow is coming. :-) There are however, commercial grade stands and umbrellas that stand up to the elements well but they can get quite pricey. Here's a good brand https://www.tuuci.com/collections/parasols/?utm_source=google_nonbrand_expandedtext&utm_medium=paidsearch&utm_campaign=northamerica_multiplelobs&utm_content=multiproduct&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIk-b2l_ze7AIVBYTICh07bwXjEAAYAiAAEgLTjvD_BwE Knowing your budget is key...See MoreI NEED HELP! What do you think will look good for my patio?
Comments (15)Marble etches and stains. Be VERY aware of what you EXPECT from marble versus what you GET with marble. If you don't care about a metal leg leaving a rust spot behind (that usually enrages MOST homeowners...BTW) then get marble. If you don't mind 'water spots' being left behind every time someone jumps into the pool, then go for it. If you don't mind a glaring white blast of light every time the sun hits it (and it looks like sunlight is going to hit this often) then go for it. If you don't mind potted plants leaving behind dirt and rust stains, then go for it. If any/all of that is going to bug you (Homeowner, Know Thyself) then DON'T USE marble. The local shop has OODLES of marble and they are hoping to shift all that product in one fell swoop. I prefer a 'travertine look' or tumbled limestone-look porcelain tile in your situation. Lisa Caudill Designs has a brilliant option. That would look STUNNING...and be far more 'livable' than marble....See MoreSveta
