A/c question - air flow

My unit recently froze. The repairman said the a/c breaker was bad and switched it out with the heat breaker. A week later because we rarely go to this part of the house, we noticed the floor in front of the unit was saturated and ruined. The drain pan was not draining and the return was pushing air (I have video). I called the repairman and he came out a week later. He said nothing was wrong with my unit except for lack of service. After my inspection, it was clear that the return was now sucking air (I have video) and the water is now draining properly. My thoughts are that the breaker was wired backwards causing the unit not to work property and I am unsure What caused the water to backup. The repairman is saying he did nothing wrong and is not liable for damages because on his 2nd trip air was coming out of the registers. He said my before and after videos of the air return don’t mean anything. I never checked the registers Before or after. Is there any truth in what he is telling me?

I am sorry that you find my question foolish. I am looking for answers. If I am wrong in thinking the damages were caused by the repairman’s first trip, then I will accept it. I want to make sure I am not being screwed over.

Regarding oxygen in your nutrient: Yes, it's necessary, but a better way to do it would be to use a small fish-tank air pump and an air stone. Just let it run 24/7 and it will force oxygen into your nutrient. Another thing: Peppers and Lettuce may do well together as their EC requirements are similar although the pH may be too different. I'll place a link to EC and pH growing tables so you can check each. Tomatoes require a LOT of nitrogen, which will destroy the peppers and lettuce. Tomatoes need an EC of around 1.8 to 2.0, while the other two require WAY less. Here is a link that might be useful: EC & pH Growing Tables

By air flow control swotch, are you perchance refering to the speed control for the blower? If so, you probably have a burned out speed control resistor. The blower speed is controlled by inserting resistance in series with the motor. The speed control shorts out parts of the resistor progressively in steps and at maximum speed, the entire resistor is shorted (bypassed). By your description, the motor is good, there is electric power avalable to the heater motor circuit, therefore, fuses/breakers in the circuit are good. You'll need to consult a repair manual to locate the resistor assembly. Often, these are mounted on the air flow duct with the resistors in the air flow. The resistors are cooled by the induced air flow. If you are lucky, it is accessible from under the hood, but if unlucky, it'll be under the dash.

There are two vents in the living room that currently feed the bottom of the unit in the garage. If these are constricted then can't get the air moving thru back to the unit. But I think I understand what you are saying. You must be referring to the output vents where the air is coming out. I am referring to the input vent to the unit (which is currently way too small based on spec). And there are two path ways into the unit. One thru the grill/vent and the other into the actual unit thru the floor. Both of these need to be opened up more for the size of my unit. Airscape fans sent me this link for the cube grids, custom order. Sweet! Most popular reasons for low air flow can be air duct leaks/restricted duct, evaporator coil frozen and cover with ice, bad blower motor not up to speed etc. System low in refrigerant also may make you feel there is low air flow. You need a pro to help you on charging refrigerant and fix leaks but you can check duct and evaporator yourself. Cold suction line only means your condenser is running but it doesn't mean it has enough refrigerant to work as designed. Good luck!

There's no way for a circuit breaker to be wired backward. They mount only one way into the breaker panel box.

Not the circuit breaker , but the switch in the actual a/c unit. I’ve actually read many articles where this can cause units or fans to run backwards (ie. the return vent pushing air instead of pulling air)

The only way a fan (blower motor) runs backwards is that the motor of the blower has reversible wired leads to allow that operation. (exception: 3 phase motor)

If the blower was running backwards and it took you a week to notice it, you've got larger problems than a blower running backwards. LOL.

I've been looking for these suspects (pictured below) for many years now, I presume they probably paid you a visit.
