longer in existence. That is so irritating. I got such good advice from that group Maybe someone here can help me.

I have loaded several old family pictures to my pictures album. When I try to give them a name, this is the message that pops up:

Rename

There is a large red dot with X through it and then it says: A file name can’t contain any of the following characters; \ / : * ? < > | An OK button on the lower right

None of the listed characters were in the name changes. In fact, there were no characters whatsoever. I really want to rename the pictures. Any suggestions?

I would like to try those markers but I would think the edges of the metal would be very sharp regardless of how smooth you may be able to cut out the shape. I would be careful with the children/grandchildren even handling them never mind making them. I donÂt remember where on the internet I found this idea, but I made these markers last year and they held up well over this past winter. I suppose they could break and become sharp too. I need tall markers because I cannot see markers that are set too low.

Thanks Teresa! I just checked out the Indy Hosta Society website about the convention. Of course that happens to be the weekend I have to head up to South Bend for my brother's wedding. But according to the website it looks like its open to the public from 1 to 11pm on Wednesday June 20th. Just might have to drag my husband up there after work. We do have our 2nd anniversary coming up the following Monday -- there we go an easy anniversary present for him to get me, more hostas. And thereby inching closer to Ken's prediction of 30 by the end of the summer. LOL!

Winter is a great time of year. As much as I love gardening it gives us a time to rest, reflect on last season, and review the new seed catalogues for the coming months plantings. I love your use of grasses and expect to be experimenting with them myself. Haven't had snow here this winter so can clearly see the colorful berries on the calicarpas, crabapples, mountain ash, hollies, and hear the rattle of the chinese lanterns hanging on the branches of the goldenraintrees. I'm going to get another cup of tea and watch the downy woodpecker at the suet feeder on the mimosa tree. Enjoy winter!

Welcome Gilda, and congratulations! From what it sounds like, you are not only a wonderful, loving, grandmom, but also a wonderful mom and mother-in-law. I know how you must feel about having withdrawals. I have two darling grandsons and after I have been around them, I miss them so much after not seeing them for just a few days. Just try to see Luke as often as possible without smothering Ashley and offer to babysit not only to help yourself, but also to allow her to get out some and keep her emotional state as it should be. Oh, wow! I searched for it and it did not turn up, so I thought it was gone. Thanks, Raven. I put it on my "follow" list.

Lukkiirish, I have rebooted and really done everything I can think of. This is so aggravating!

Windows won't allow special characters in the file name. Just rename your file that you wish to save with no special or disallowed characters. For example name it myfile rather than myfile/

I just reread that it has none of the special characters. Just delete and retype the name, maybe there is a corruption in the file name.
