Where can I get Fig Seeds?
Comments (15)LosLunas: No luck at Walmart, though a stocker said they did often have them. Gorgi, I don't think the seeds out of Newtons would germinate, having been baked. I have plenty of space and I thought I might try your dried fig experiment just for the devil of it if I could find dried figs. Tell us how you planted the seeds, how deep, what kind of planting medium, etc??? It would just be a "for the fun of it" experiment; I want to get trees that will bear soon with no fooling around so cuttings are as far as I can stretch it. I've got some figs on order now. Comments (8)Everyone has their own construction techniques. That's really something you need to weigh the pro's and con's of before you build (if your going to put much money into it). I've been there and done that for my situation. The easy answer isn't always the best, especially when money is an issue. My advice is to explore all your options, and ask as many questions as you can to those working at your local home improvement stores. Make them your friends, you will no doubt be relying on their advice (that's what their for). You may not always agree with them, or think they just want to sell products. But they are an invaluable tool for information on products, as well as how well they work for your use when they have the time to hear you out. Make them your friends. Almost all the employes at Lowe's, Home Depot, and ACE hardware know me by name, as well as ask how my greenhouse project is going as soon as they see me....See MoreI'm glad I found this forum!
Comments (10)Thanks Teresa! I just checked out the Indy Hosta Society website about the convention. Of course that happens to be the weekend I have to head up to South Bend for my brother's wedding. But according to the website it looks like its open to the public from 1 to 11pm on Wednesday June 20th. Just might have to drag my husband up there after work. We do have our 2nd anniversary coming up the following Monday -- there we go an easy anniversary present for him to get me, more hostas. And thereby inching closer to Ken's prediction of 30 by the end of the summer. LOL!...See MoreHi, I just found this forum
Comments (2)Welcome Gilda, and congratulations! From what it sounds like, you are not only a wonderful, loving, grandmom, but also a wonderful mom and mother-in-law. I know how you must feel about having withdrawals. I have two darling grandsons and after I have been around them, I miss them so much after not seeing them for just a few days. Just try to see Luke as often as possible without smothering Ashley and offer to babysit not only to help yourself, but also to allow her to get out some and keep her emotional state as it should be. Good luck to you and Merry Christmas!! Lulie Cosby...See Morethe_virginian
