When do Reblooming daylilies Rebloom?
Comments (3)jardineratx, If you're close to Houston, there will be open Gardens on the 18th of May in Alvin, Pearland, League City and Cypress. Lots of daylilies blooming in AHS Display Gardens. A couple of the Gardens are sales gardens. If you want more details, check out the link below. Comments (3)Debra--Don't feel too bad for me--my work day is about a 13 hour day, but I can usually swing working only four days a week. That gives me a whole extra day to play in the yard--small price to pay for the long days! I have only been working 5 days for the last couple of weeks to cover my partner's vacation. Rita-- I have been drooling over rebloom pics on this forum for a couple of years.. just thought I wouldn't ever get there as my season starts so much later. What a pleasant surprise! I too am hoping that my rebloom is due to my plants finally being established.. would love to see it continue in future years! My Maurader is usually much reder... not sure if the color difference is due to the lateness of the season, weather etc. I have had a hard time getting a picture of it's true color, even in it's prime. An added bonus with the cooler temps is that even if I miss the blooms the first day, sometimes I can at least get the general idea the next. This was my Celebration of Angels today... still sporting yesterdays blooms! Won't hold up to close inspection, but still a joy to see this afternoon! Julie...See MoreDaylilies with reblooming scrapes in October?
Comments (13)Here it is Nov 25th in East Central Iowa and I have a Rosy Returns as a cut flower in the house that had 2 blooms on it yesterday. This plant has bloomed non stop since June (never without buds or blooms). I cut the stems off a week ago before the snow storm. It had 2 buds ready to open at that time. Now these 2 and still has 3 more buds. They are small, so I have doubts that they will open. There were still new stems coming when I cut these.I have never had a daylily bloom this much. I did have a Stella that had new buds, but it had rested different times during the summer....See Morereliable rebloomer daylilies for the north
Comments (6)Nancy 6b sounds promising. Nat4B. I'm in the same zone as you. Very curious about the parentage of your instant rebloom or double scapers. I find this fascinating as I've never seen it happen on anything but May May, and she'll also rebloom a bit now and then...See Moreshive
