No pics, since we haven't broken ground yet, but I've devoted a scary amount of thought to this issue. The entire design process for me has been one of confronting the truth about who I really am, not who I'd like to pretend to be: though I love a tidy house, I need to be very careful to make keeping it that way as easy as possible. Otherwise, I tend to let things pile up until setting them to rights is difficult and depressing. Clothes are the only thing that ever messes up my bedroom, so I don't want any clothes storage there: I want a closet big enough to hold EVERYTHING. I only need a tiny bit of 'full height' hanging space, so all the rest can have upper and lower rods. For sweaters [I'm a cashmere/dale of norway junky] I want open shelves, spaced close enough together that I'm not tempted to pile one atop another[I always make a mess if they are]. One [or two] of those trouser hanger assemblies made up of multiple horizontal rods on a vertical axis. Not only hold more for the space they take up, but less mess since you don't have seperate hangers for each pair. Just a few drawers for 'small clothes', but some kind of multi-basket system for dirty laundry so I can tell at a glance not just when I need to wash, but what. A bench of course, and some wall hooks for stuff like robes. And no doors: though those fully fitted closets look very nice, I know that I'd almost never bother to close them. Oh, and one of those lights that turn themselves on when you walk in. Natural light would be nice as well.

Basics of closet design, if you see the wall behind, there is room to store vertically. Good news: There is a lot of unused space in the closet. A lot of potential. With a closet system, there will be so much more function & storage space. I have design closets for 15+ years. I suggest getting a local closet company for an estimate. Probably can send the layout & get 2-3 estimates. I prefer the hanging systems to keep the option of touching floor or not. That way, if I do not want to touch floor, things can still be store under hang if need be. Make sure the shelving is adjustable, because life adjusts & so does stuff. Make the shelving in the corner deeper. Avoid wire. Things fall through wire & it's just not as good for so many reasons. Watch out for long planks ordered online, I tried, but often the material would come in warped, damaged, etc. I also have done wood, getting the holes to make adjustable shelving is no fun. It was more of a pain & took too long & did not turn out as nice. That's why I prefer using local closet companies who provide the material. Hanging systems need to be secured into studs & there are general rules in widths, so shelving does not warp. I love well functional, adjustable closets. Once you have one, you'll just wish you had one sooner:) slat wall example of gadgets that would be useful to your particular items. or get some white shelving with hooks

I like the placement of the walk-in. It's convenient from both the bedroom and the bathroom but it is in neither. That's really great. You can do much better than hanging rods all along the perimeter though. Maybe shelves on the top and bottom walls and hanging rods on left and right walls if you need to hang that much. Or shelves on the top, hanging on the left, a chair in the bottom right corner with a bachelor's chest with a lamp on it and a mirror hanging above it by the door for storage of underwear and socks. I also like the toilet room at the front of the bathroom so you don't have to walk through the whole room every time you need to go. You'll access that about five times as often as the shower so that's a good choice. I would put the door on the short wall across from the toilet though. It makes no sense to have it open right where someone might be standing at the sink. And some of the convenience is lost by having to make a 90 degree turn to access it. Have it open out just in case. If someone falls or is crouched down getting sick, you'll want access. Two vanities is nice. All told this is the nicest ensuite-WIC layout I've seen posted.

Option one with a smaller budget is to keep the same layout, swap the existing tub for a free-standing one. 5'6 wide shower is enough for 2, it looks like the length of it is about the same minus the bench. You can always shrink the vanities to expand the shower , you defiantly don't need 11'5 for vanity's. Option two if budget allows to re-route the plumbing, you can do the entire bathroom over-haul like moving the wall and vanities forward to expand the closet, shrink the vanity space and move the toilet on the vanity wall and the rest will be all shower.
