creeping phlox in a garden pot?
Comments (2)Creeping phlox, Phlox subulata, is extremely cold hardy, down to zone 2. I doubt you have much to worry about regarding its ability to overwinter in your container. I'd be more concerned about the ability of the container itself to withstand any freezing winter temperatures. If this is an issue, moving the pot into an unheated garage or similar facility that would avoid the moisture and temperature extremes that could cause the container to freeze and crack would be in order. Light is not an issue over winter as the plant is dormant but you would want to check that the soil does not dry out excessively. Keep it just barely moist....See MoreWANTED Garden Phlox- phlox paniculata I traded all of mine away

Comments (3)I have the same problem with phlox. Look on the plants and see if you see tiny (or small) orange and black bugs. Phlox bugs. They suck the chlorophyll out and often it kills the plants. I got some insecticidal soap...I read if you spray often, then in the fall cut the plants way back and throw away the cuttings, hopefully it's better next year. Good luck.
