So sorry that it's taken me a long time to reply, we've been on spring break and every day/night at least one of my children has had a group of friends over-- a lot for me to keep up with. I love these ideas! The celestial print, the vintage photographs, the hooks for towels, everything. Thank you so much. And yes, no frogs (although I truly think they would love that), but I am leaning towards a lone star in the room somewhere, after all, we're in Texas. I'm also leaning toward burgundy as the main color, but still haven't reconciled that with my dark, golden oak floors. Today I was in a thrift shop and found a nicely framed van gogh print, the image, which had brilliant, deep blues and yellows (this wasn't Starry Night but a cafe' scene) prompted me to consider those colors as well (plus we're Notre Dame fans so we get a lot of mileage out of those two colors). In any case, your comments caused a lightbulb to go off in my head. Thank you! Please keep your ideas coming. I need all of the help I can get! Thank you so very much.

I did consider a white at one point. I like that idea better with the navy ribbon. Do you mean a boarder, a few inches in, the whole way around? Width of trim? Any idea what material I should use? Something like this? These are both only 72" though and I'd like a 78". Would you still use the green/blue fabric as a window treatment in there? Dug out some pictures. Here's an old picture. Here's a more recent shot so you can see the bedroom better. I've eliminated some pillows. I do plan to use the tartan euros, houndstooth plaid shams and bedskirt, and red coverlet around Christmas. Yikes, the bathroom isn't photographing well at all. It's BM Moroccan Red. White blind will also go. Should corner shelf leave? I've always liked it but recently have been thinking it's time for a new home.

My opinion is that cabinets don't need to match throughout a home, although they should be similar in style (e.g., sleek contemporary vs. MCM vs. craftsman vs. traditional raised-panel). The color schemes from room to room should also be complementary. In my previous house, every room was a different color but cabinet styles were similar; in my current house, wall color is the same everywhere while accessories and cabinetry are different finishes (but same styles).

If you're redoing the shower anyway (looks like tile and grout are degraded and may not be keeping moisture out of the wall), then a tub is pretty cheap, and you might be glad you replaced it rather than having to build your whole bathroom around the current shade of gray. Plus, it may look even worse once the rest of the room is fresh and new.
