Help please - Front Door Color for Selling
Hello! All 4 realtors we interviewed recommended we keep the front door with a pop of COLOR (the yellow, a blue, or bright red). The stager is suggesting a BLACK door with a green boxwood wreath. I trust her sense of design, but this opposite opinion from each of the realtors has me second guessing what is best!
What color would you recommend to make our home most appealing to buyers?

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoI am a Realtor and I agree that a door with a pop of color is more welcoming to buyers (hands down).
I use staging companies too, but frankly, IME while the staging co does a great job inside, the exterior presentation is not as well done IMO. As Rita says, the staging co has slightly different goals.
Is the pic in the OP your house? If so, leave the door yellow and add plants/flowers with yellow to tie into the front door.
Here is the idea in red (but your door should either stay yellow or change to blue or even green). Tying in your landscaping to your front door is a real win for real estate photos and for giving that welcome home feeling to buyers. I use this pic frequently because it gets the point across. You can choose any color, just tie it in with the landscaping.

Comments (7)I like the blue examples that @houssaon shared, but look at colors you love. Also consider if those 3 posts are necessary or not, or could they be reduced to one that is thicker? Could the lower half of the wall on the left be painted the color of your house trim to brighten up the entry area? Comments (15)So much of this depend on whether you want to make this look right….it is two obviously different sections… completely different windows…doors…and a ton of personality on the tiny side……pretty blah on the major portion …..every effort should be made to unify the curb appeal….it is my opinion that adding some cute to the big side is the way to go….for re- sale later on …and for your enjoyment every time you come home...See MorePlease Help recommend trim color for front and back exterior doors
