mammapinky Yes, they are. I did that on purpose. I wanted a different illusion than just the mirrors hanging, if that makes sense. I want the mirrors and curtains anchoring the bed, like a headboard. Thank you! To everyone mentioning the mirror height, don't tell my husband! (lol) He absolutely hates hanging curtains, shelves, mirrors and paintings. haha I'll have to wait to the weekend or a day we both have the time and we shall raise them. I'll have to ease him into it. ;) Should they go the same height as the curtains? Are you renting or did you buy your apartment? Is your management company/co-op board okay with flex construction? If so, do you have this in writing rather than just a verbal ok? If you bought, have you double-checked with the lawyer who worked on your apartment purchase? how much should I spend for a temporary wall to be constructed? I would love to keep it under 1500. -Any companies I should look into in NYC? Having spent the first 30 years of my life in NYC (the first 18 with five people in a two-BR apartment), my advice would not to make any selections of companies without personal referrals from other NYers you trust. Get a list of reputable, recommended companies. Then find out what the going rate is, and hope that it comes in at under $1,500. How much you want to spend and what the going rate is, esp from a well-regarded company that does good work, are likely to be two very different things. Yes, a complete floor plan would be very helpful for the rest. When I Googled "flex bedroom in nyc apartment", these articles came up. Thank you all for your ideas and support. Especially you, Julie. I cannot thank you enough for your ideas and PATIENCE with me. The back and forth has been going on for weeks and u have always been genuinely eager to help me. I thought about the chests and everyone’s right, it’s the best option for my small room. I’m big on symmetry too, so that’s the best option with that as well. Everything will be centered which makes me happy. With that being said, i want to check out Home Goods, Ashley, and a few other furniture stores so I can see the chests in person. However, nothing is open on Long island where i live, and we aren’t even in phase one yet 😢. I’ve been quarantined for weeks with two little kids, driving myself insane with my room. I have also been driving Julie insane too I’m sure which I feel bad about. So i am going to give my room a break for now until I can see some three drawer chests in person. Julie, we spoke about this before and i scrolled up to see the old comments. I will need two chests 32 inches or less...so now I will know what to look for. I want my furniture to be light or a gray wash. Once I find one, of course I will consult with Julie and the rest of my houzz buds. Thank you so much for everything this far!!!!😉
