Good morning Ladies, I live in the wonderful state of Wyoming :) We haven't had this much snow here in over 12 years - I'm really not complaining as we need it soooo bad. And yes, it is beautiful! Yesterday when the sun came out - it looked like miles of diamonds. Very pretty - perfect day to go sledding if I could have got the sleds out of the shed LOL But alass they were snowed in to... I called our county office to see what was going on since they haven't showed up here yet and thier graders are snowed in on the other side of the county.... Looks like we get another day at home :) I am almost done digging the drive way out - about 20 more feet of the last drift. YIPPY!! The good thing about this is I am going to get my son's Christmas quilt finished way ahead of time and maybe even one for my brother & a couple baby ones before it gets to hot to work on them this summer. Once something starts bugging you it is hard to "just let it go" -- I got REAL GOOD and taking things apart when I did my kaleidoscope quilt. (Even literally put darts in a couple blocks to get it to match right!) I noticed you have the four corners of blocks in the center perfectly matched -- the little muslin squares. I would let that intersection go as far askew as I needed to to get the black parts lined up. Since the muslin is roughly the same color it's really "one square" in the center -- IMO, matching it's points is not important. Where as the black/white intersections jump out at you. I would get those black squares matched up and sewn together. (Taking at least the one in like I suggested above) THEN, if I had a significant difference in size between the top and bottom muslin pieces in the center, I'd take the one that is larger and tighten its seam up -- Go up higher - maybe right below where the black starts and resew the seam angling inward ever so slightly so that by the time I reach the bottom my seam allowance is more than 1/4 inch -- I've sewn at an angle. Too extreme an angle and it won't lie flat but I think you can get away with enough to take up the slack. And once it's quilted who will know?! Clear as mud?!

Thanks all. Sharon, I just used the FM foot and sewed an "X" wherever I would normally tie it. I've done this before either with the FM foot or with the embroidery foot and using a decorative stitch, sewing one motif in each spot. The only hassle is I don't have an automatic thread cutter and that gets to be a pain to go underneath and cut the bobbin thread before moving on to the next spot.
