Front door color
We recently had our house painted Homburg Grey (Sherwin Williams) and I’m unsure of my front door color now, which is actually more of a greener teal than what the photo below shows.
I need advice on what color I should paint my front door. My colorblind neighbor thinks it clashes horribly and likes to tell me so about once a week. Haha!

Comments (6)This is a recommended color from SW for Mindful Gray…homburg gray. I would do this on the shutters and the garage doors and leave the wood door as is. The two middle windows shouldn’t have shutters as the won’t fit appropriately, but you are not painting the siding and the darker outlines of the shutters will show if you don’t replace what was there. Comments (9)People have storm doors because, they open doors and pull down the screen for air. A storm door has a security lock on it, for safety. Phantom screens are wrecked by children and pets go right through them and can escape your property and end lost or worse. I personally, would never ever be without storm doors on my house. 5 years agoAgree with Beth that black or gray wouldn't work unless you surround the black front door with a lot of white trim including your sidelights as shown in one of the pics below. Otherwise your black door will disappear.
I do like yellow for your front door or the coral or raspberry. Green works well. Not fond of blue doors for your home. Some ideas below.

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoI also, agree with Diana when I first saw images of your house the first thing I thought was a glossy red door. Go with it, it will be an excellent solution. And I agree that you need a modern front door. This one looks inappropriate with the style of your house.
IMO such kind of door with wooden surface/color will look good too. I do like Denita's ideas about coral. So many options to consider! I hope you'll find the best decision!
