No offense, sweeby, but I definitely would not do the picture light AND a vanity light. You would still have two lights, which just looks wierd and unecessary in that space. You should be able to find a two-light vanity light that's small enough. Two lightbulbs is plenty enough to light that space -- it's not that big. I have a powder room that's the same square footage and a 2-light fixture is more than adequate. Link below is for one in brushed nickel that will go with your faucet for less than $25! I would center the mirror over the sink. Look for a skinny mirror -- best places for decorator mirrors on a budget are Hobby Lobby and Kirklands. If you can't find one, you can get a raw piece of mirror cut the right size at a glass shop. Then, since it sounds like you're doing other remodeling, if you have a trim carpenter handy they should be able to trim it out with some molding painted the same color as the rest of your trim. I would leave the beadboard white. I would say no to either patterned or textured wallpaper -- it would compete with the texture of the beadboard. I'm all about neutral paint colors and letting accessories (hand towels, artwork over the toilet) be the punch of color. But if you really want to paint the walls a color, just about anything will go eith the white beadboard and satin nickel fixtures. couple of options to keep the dark, drama even though this is a black ship lap, by using a neutral vanity w/marble top and some gold accents, it's anything but dark and dreary. wainscot on the lower half. notice the window trim and blind. pedestal sink (if you don't need any storage) gives more room/space in a small bathroom. even though this gray is a dark shade (like yours), w/the white below it (subway tile would work too) it keeps a classic look. notice the window on this one too,,,,(the zebras are a bit bold, but it works!) beautiful white casing w/woven wood shade, everything else is drama-city!

if you want 37" to feel spacious and dont need a lot of storage, i have one of these... there is room inside for things required for a powder room. tiling the entire wall behind it, floor to ceiling, looks lush without using a lot of material. ronbow leonie

on my monitor there's no gray in the floor..it's travertine..only very warm greige might fly and wouldn't attempt even very warm greige..I think minimum taupe or tan, if to go with lighter neutrals. This floor won't handle cooler shades next to it well enough. Yellow gold would be striking with that red, yes-having said that I really love that chocolate, but would borrow the idea of incorporating gold for ceiling treatment Agree about the bin btw, even though I'm sure it's very hygienic to use and all. ah, and agree about the towel. Doesn't have to be all red but can contain red in its pattern. It's also huge fun to choose towels..:)
