I can only speak to Lavender Lassie. Lavender Lassie only reblooms for me if the winter and winter/spring transition has not been too severe. This past year was the first year since that awful Easter freeze of '07 that she and any of my other established hybrid musks rebloomed. If Lavender Lassie is doing okay, it blooms heavily in the spring and then a little more in the fall, but that is about it. No magic answer on this one.

Thank you. It seems to me it used to repeat better, but I have a shade problem in my garden that has only gotten worse the bigger my trees get. Luckily a big tree was hit by lightening this spring and without that tree many roses that were declining are perking up and blooming right now. I think my LL will bloom in fall. I have a little one in my front yard that has repeated already. It's one of my favorite hm's. Does get more bs than some. My big one is going up into an apple tree. Pam, it's funny how the same rose can be great in one location and not so good in a similar location. I've seen that several times. Susan, you might try growing LL in a different spot and see if it does any better.

Did you buy 'Lavender Lassie' budded/grafted onto Multiflora? If so, I'm thinking that the top growth died and what you see now is the Multiflora rootstock sending up shoots. :-) ~Christopher

Sharon, it is too bad about your dog. It is hard to lose a pet buddy. I still grieve sometimes over the loss of my cats, but I believe that they have gone on to a better place where they won't hurt any more. I do not know where you are or what zone, but I can comment on Lavender Lassie as it does here. It gets to be a big, sprawly climber that has a big display of lavender-pink flowers in the spring provided the weather has not been on a rampage in some way. The cooler it is, the more lavender the flowers are. Warmer temps favor the pink. If we have had a late, hard freeze, there will be no repeat bloom in the fall. The fall repeat is quite minimal, but just enough to say that it repeats, sometimes. There is no bloom cycle for summer after the spring flush. Some hybrid musks are better than others for repeat bloom. Bishop Darlington does well for that, but it is only marginally hardy here. I hope that I have helped in some small way.
